Questions & Answers
These arm replacements were a perfect fit for our office chair. They're made of coated foam and are extremely long-lasting. These are what I'll buy if I ever need to replace them.
Yes, as long as you have the proper mount on your chair. I can lift my entire weight of 190 pounds off the front of the arm pads and out of the chair.
Yes. Because it's an arm rest, it's flat on one side and slightly beveled on the other. They have exceeded our expectations.
The skinny end of my chair was placed in front, while the fatter end was placed in back. That's how the old arms were attached to the wall. I hope this information is useful.

Purchased to replace the armrest pads on a Staples chair that is on its third set. I usually get two years out of the armrests before the outer skin cracks and the foam is exposed. These appear to be of high quality. The only way to find out is to wait. The screws are the only stumbling block. Although screws are included, they are not interchangeable with 1/4-inch screws. On the previous pads, 20 Phillips head screws were used. That wouldn't be an issue if the supplied screws weren't more than twice as long. The back screw appears to be nearly the same width as the pad by eyeballing it. I chose to run for a second term. Using a 1/4-inch needle and thread, thread the armrest. Instead of cutting the screws (which I assume are metric), I used a 20 bottoming tap. I don't have a die or nut to chase the threads after they've been cut, so I had to re-do it. the threads should be tapped.
I didn't want to replace my desk chair because one of the arm rests had worn out. Thankfully, I was able to locate these replacement parts on Amazon, and they worked flawlessly. The old arms (on the left) have a slightly different shape than the new arms (on the right), but they are the same size and, more importantly, the screw holes on the bottom lined up perfectly. The old arm rests may have had a little more padding than the new ones, but I don't think that would be an issue for most users. Two machine screws can be seen in the last photograph. The one on the left had the new arm rests installed. The one on the right is from the old arm rests and has blue paint on it. As you can see, the new screws are longer than the old ones, and they were actually too long for my chair to work with. The old screws, on the other hand, could not be reused because they had a different thread pattern than the new arm rests. This is not a problem I blame on the manufacturer. They can't possibly know the exact chair on which these are to be installed, so I'm sure they provide screws that "work for most. " Unfortunately, the screws that "work for most" didn't work for me. There's no need to be concerned. For $2 at my local Ace Hardware store, I was able to secure shorter screws with the correct thread pattern. 00 for the installation to be completed. br>br>Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would gladly recommend it to others.
Excellent value for money. My office chair is several years old, and I've been using it for a few months with deteriorating arm pads (cracked top surface). "Order new ones," my wife advised. I had no idea arm pads could be purchased separately. br>As long as the mounting screw holes are 4 inches apart, these Staples armrest pads should fit your typical office chair; they are equivalent to the "Original Equipment Manufacturer"/OEM armrest pads. They're just as comfortable as the pads that came with my office chair (though they're a little thinner). The resources- man- A metal mounting substructure is atop a foam interior with a more durable polyurethane surface. resemble OEM in appearance. br>I also appreciate the fact that these arm pads come with four M6 mounting screws. A generic thread locker ("Loctite") is also present on the screws. Only a Phillips screwdriver is required for installation, which takes only a few minutes. br>These Staples armrest pads are well-made, offer good value, and should help your office chair last longer.
Because of the design, the screws are approximately twice as long. They are simple to put on. My only wish is for the arm rests to be a little longer, as I find that my elbow rests on the front edge, which is where my old ones were worn out. I can see that happening again with these; it's just a matter of time. I bought these to replace on my company chair, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money or time on them, so these will suffice until something else on the chair fails and the entire chair needs to be replaced.
br>On the ones I got, the mounting screw holes were slightly off center. br>After removing the arms, I was able to align the screw holes and put everything together. br>I'd also recommend tightening the mounting bolts with a long, large Phillips head screwdriver with a good handle. br>The replacement mounting bolts didn't quite match the tapped threads on the new arm rests. br>However, once they're in, they're in!.
My wife asked me to get rid of a pair of sturdy office chairs because the arm rests were cracked and broken, exposing rough edges. I was able to replace the old, worn-out armrests with these, and the two chairs now appear to be brand new. The old screws had to be yanked out with a lot of force. The old screws had to be broken free with the help of a long pair of pliers on the Phillips screwdriver handle, but installing the new arm rests was a breeze once they were free. This book comes highly recommended.
Even though a spacer was used to give the armrest height, I was looking for armrests that were one inch deep in the front. These are not only flat, but also comfortable and durable. They have encased foam that softens over time, giving the chair a new look and feel. I'm glad I chose this pair to keep after comparing them with another set of armrests.
Over ten years ago, I bought a chair at Office Max. The chair had been working fine until one of the arms began to crack underneath it, affecting the entire arm rest. I came across this item that looked similar to my Office Max chair and decided to buy it. It's a little different, but it works great, and now I have a spare arm rest in case one of the new ones breaks.
