Questions & Answers
My pads fit perfectly, and removing and replacing them only took five minutes. There were no issues at all for me. What exactly do you mean when you say "doesn't fit"? "How big is the screw? " What is the length of the screw? Is the arm assembly aligned with the holes? Have you tried installing the attachment screws in the arms without the pad attached to the arm assembly?
Of course, it will work with your chair because both the leather and vinyl arms have the same mounting dimensions. Thank you very much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,
They appear to be aftermarket, but they are perfect for the job.

For the price of an Aeron chair, the original arm pads cracked much sooner than I anticipated. I'm not sure why I put off replacing them for so long, but at this price, you can't go wrong. Plus, despite being firmer, I prefer these to the chair's "leather"-covered foam pads. These new pads aren't spongy foam covered in something synthetic, so I'm putting quotes around "leather. " Throughout, they are made of the same material. They're still comfortable, and they appear to be much more durable than the originals. Yes, you should most likely purchase them.
Each arm pad is protected by a protective sleeve, which is then wrapped in a second layer of bubble wrap. Installation is simple because the replacement arm pad perfectly matches the original screws and hole locations. The replacement is more substantial and firm than the original, as evidenced by the provided images (the replacement is on the right in the photos). It isn't as tough as the original pad, but it isn't as forgiving. The vinyl has the expected feel to it - it's smooth and silky. It's not abrasive, but it's also not silky smooth. The original pads have a smoother feel to them, but I expect the replacement pads to have a similar feel as they wear in. My only concern is how the replacement pad's seam will wear over time; however, given the savings over Herman Miller's current $110 premium, I am happy with this purchase. I have no reservations in recommending these replacement arm pads.
However, they look and feel great, and they only took about 5 minutes to put on (albeit with caution to avoid stripping the screws due to the force I had to apply). Overall, if you don't want to spend a fortune on the original HM armpads, this is a good alternative.
I prefer these arm rests to the originals, but there is a noticeable difference in appearance. The material is being gassed. However, I believe that this will pass quickly. br>br>The material is firmer than the original, which can be seen in the photos. There's some wiggle room, but it's not much. These, in my opinion, are a perfect replacement for your Aeron chair and are a cost-effective way to refresh it. They fit perfectly and were installed with the original screws in my size B. They DO NOT include replacement screws, so keep the ones that came with your chair handy. br>br>Well worth the time and effort. I also installed roller blade casters and am anticipating the arrival of a headrest. Rather than buying a new chair, a nice refresh is in order.
Because the factory arm rest screws are slightly larger than the tapped threads on these arm rests, you'll have to essentially tap new threads with the old screws, which means you'll have to use a LOT of force to avoid stripping the phillips screw head. I would advise you to prepare ahead of time. Before attempting to install the new arm rests on the chair, tap them with the old screws by hand. Because doing it entirely by hand is extremely difficult, I started the tap by hand and finished with a power drill set to high torque and low speed. br>br>These are slightly less round and much firmer than OEM arm rests, but they look the part. Still feel good as a replacement, especially considering how much less expensive it is than buying from Herman Miller.
These worked perfectly, and all I had to do was put them on. There were no strange odors or anything like that, which are common in this type of thing. They're tougher than the original, but they appear to be more durable, as others have stated. Because the plastic is not threaded, I recommend starting the screws a little before screwing them into the chair to start the threads.
It was a breeze to take off my old, cracked arm pads and replace them with these. It took me about 10 minutes to complete the task, including the time it took me to locate my screwdriver.
You can't go wrong with this deal. It's a simple installation as long as the screws are lined up correctly. At a fraction of the price of Herman Miller arm pads, these pads provide excellent support for many hours of work. This book comes highly recommended.
