Vinyl is most likely the material used.

How big is the cutout? The one I'm trying to replace, for example, measures 6 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches. ?

The cutout on my armrest is 5 inches wide and 5 inches long. 5 inches long and 1 inch wide 75" x 75" Although my chair is inexpensive, this size armrest was the perfect fit for it.

They will fit if the center of the bolt is 4 inches. Others have different bolt centers, and you can find the bolt centers your chair requires. br>These fit my needs perfectly and have performed admirably; I will order them again if necessary.

I'm glad I was able to locate substitutes
3/5

My office chair from Staples is about to fall apart. I am sixteen years old. The armrests are split and falling apart, but the rest of the chair is in good condition, and I don't want to spend money on a new one. I was overjoyed to discover these because I'm tired of picking foam pieces off the floor and the old armrests are causing my elbows to hurt. These replacements fit perfectly and took only five minutes to install. They don't have as much padding as the originals. They're also a little oily, so your fingers will feel oily or grubby whenever you touch them. I've tried everything from Windex to white vinegar to clean them, but none of them have worked. They're out, and I'm not happy about it. Some chemical is being gassed. Hopefully, this will go away with time, but in the meantime, I ordered some $12 cloth office chair armrest covers to cover them.

Although the fit is excellent, new screws may be required
5/5

These arms fit my chair perfectly, but I needed to purchase new screws. Because the ones that came out of the chair were the wrong size, make sure you screw your existing screws into these arms before attempting to attach them to your chair. If the existing screws can't be easily screwed in (and I mean WAY in. ) Different screws will be required (not just a couple of turns). br>br>*THESE* arms necessitated a 1/4-inch cut. 20 socket cap screws, 3/4 inch long.

My computer chair is nearly 20 years old, and one of the armrests was torn
5/5

I've tried at least four times to replace the chai, but they don't make chairs for short people that are reasonably priced. No chair has ever come close to matching my old chair in terms of being able to sit low enough or having a comfortable seat. So, despite the fact that my old chair seat has seen better days, I decided it was time to give it a makeover. The arm rests were perfect, and the Quess Gel seat cushion improved the comfort of the seat without raising it too high.

They're fine, except for the fact that they used the incorrect thread for the job
3/5

Yes 1/4 - 20 is a common fastener, and it's fine for most applications; however, it's not a good idea for armrests because you can't get that size fastener without a hex head. What is the problem with hex heads? Because hex heads necessitate the use of a socket, which is often impractical in tight spaces! I needed a machine screw with a Phillips head, and if it had been 1/4-inch in diameter, that would have been ideal. They would have been readily available at my neighborhood big box store, which had 24 of them. OR, alternatively, you could have simply included the appropriate hardware with your product!!.

I worked on a chair from Office Depot that had seen better days
5/5

I have an old office chair from Office Depot that I purchased many years ago. The optional arms were ordered, but the arm pads have worn out over time. The arm pads on this chair are held in place by two metric screws, but the mounting centers are 4 1/2 inches apart. I looked all over (including Amazon) for replacements with 4 1/2" mounting holes but couldn't find any. Everything appears to be in the four-digit range. " So I took a chance and ordered them anyway, and by simply drilling a new hole in the arm (not the pad), I was able to make them fit. Because the old bolt's head was too wide to fit in the new hole on the underside of the arm mount, I had to use a slightly different bolt. This worked flawlessly, and I'm very pleased with the results. They appear to be tough and not overly soft. They are extremely relaxing.

The installation proved to be more difficult than it needed to be
3/5

It's all right. Because they're much harder (with little give), I don't find them as comfortable as the original arms on my chair. The biggest issue was the screw holes, which may soften over time. br>The biggest issue was the screw holes. I attempted to use the 1/4 screws that came with my original arms, but they only turned twice before jamming, so I assumed they were too large. I went to the hardware store and purchased a smaller size; When I got home, I discovered they were too small and promptly fell out. I tried the 1/4 again, and after a lot of effort (and stripping a couple of screw heads in the process, I had to go back to the hardware store), I was able to get all four in place. If it had been just one hole, I would have assumed it was a fluke or possibly my screws, but it was all four, and I was using both new and old screws. I'm not sure why the company doesn't just give the customers the 20 cent screws (or simply include them in the price) and make sure they fit properly. I never imagined that screwing in four freaking screws would be a one. It took me 5 hours to complete (including the two trips to the hardware store).

However, it's not a particularly interesting item
5/5

At work, one of the armrests on my desk chair had disintegrated, spilling rubber bits all over the floor. It was impossible for our supply room to order just one set of these to fix the problem. br>br>In this case, Amazon comes to the rescue. This isn a 100% match in appearance to the old armrests, but it fits the chair, looks almost the same and it installed easily. Because one of the original rests is still intact, I may still have the other one if the one I installed wears out. br>br>This is a very good replacement that should be easy to install for just about anyone.

This is a great product
5/5

My worn-out soft armrests have been replaced. Only a set of four holes is available. And I didn't have any bolts, so I had to dig through my 15-year stash of old bolts and screws to find some that would fit. When you find bolts of the thread and diameter, they should be less than 3/4" long. br>These are definitely keepers in my opinion. Because of the arm rests, I had to replace the whole chair under warranty. These appear to be sturdy and long-lasting.
