There is no zipper on this item. The information provided in the description is inaccurate. They only have a thin elastic band that slips over the armrest. This is a product that I would never recommend.
Just for you, I took some measurements. At 16 inches, I believe they would be stretched to their limit. I had some extra material at the ends of my chair arms because they were only 12 inches long. However, I was disappointed because the arm covers in the online photo appear to be padded, but they are not. I ended up getting some foam strips/padding to put under mine because they were a good quality product, and I hope this helps.
Yes, I believe it would be appropriate. My score is a one. 14-inch tall, 3/4-high It's about a half-inch long and three inches wide, and it's the perfect size for mine.

The chair in the photo is only two years old, and it'll be the last time I buy one of those faux leatherettes; next time, I'll opt for cloth upholstery. This armrest cover, on the other hand, looks fantastic and fits perfectly in my chair. br>br>The armrest's total length is 14 inches, and its width is currently around 3 inches.
The elastic opening, which should fit completely over and slightly under the armrest, keeps these armrest covers in place. Unfortunately, armrest pads that are fully attached to the chair arm will not fit. In order for these covers to stay on, they must have a lip or overhang on each end of the armrest pads. Mine have an overhang/lip on one end but none on the other, causing them to slide off all the time. They are, however, very comfortable, and I believe they would fit perfectly in the armrests of some office chairs. They stretch easily but cinch back up to fit a variety of armrest sizes in office chairs. They aren't of the best quality, but they do the job and look good. Because I didn't pay a lot for them, I'm not too disappointed. To keep the one end in place, I might use safety pins. It's an old chair, and I only ordered the covers to keep the fake leather from peeling and falling to the floor, where it would be found.
