Selected User Reviews For Poly - Studio - Premium Audio and Video Conferencing System (Polycom) - Plug-and-Play USB Connectivity - Video Solution for Home Office & Small Conference Rooms
I had high hopes for this camera. We require a camera for our conference room, which is equipped with its own Mac. It's convenient that the video, sound, and microphone are all contained in one device. My users will find it easier because they won't have to deal with multiple remotes and devices. The speaker was loud and clear, and the microphone performed admirably. The video, on the other hand, was not up to par. The video looked grainy and low-resolution on a 2013 MacPro and a 2019 MacBook Pro. It appeared to be a 2005 video call, not a 2021 call. Image quality is superior on webcams under $20. It worked with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Quicktime, PhotoBoth, and Go To Meeting, among other things. The picture was much better when I connected it to a Windows 10 PC from 2017. close to current industry standards The device was handed back to me.
When there are a lot of people in the room, this is very useful. 'Plug and play' is the best way to describe it. In less than 30 seconds, you'll be up and running. I've got it set up to work with Teams and make Telegram voice calls. I spent around $500 attempting to cobble together a set of tools to do what this does, but none of it worked. Buy it.
This was placed in a small company's conference room and used on occasion. It was mounted to a TV stand with a large TV and a UPS so that it could be moved if necessary. When the office closed last year, it went months without being used. It worked well, especially when it automatically focused on a speaker, making it ideal for its location at the end of a long table. The sound was excellent, and the video quality was adequate but not outstanding. I was dissatisfied with how expensive it was in comparison to its performance when it worked, but not enough to return it. It was entirely my fault. br>br>It turned off and wouldn't turn back on exactly 13 months after purchase, one month after the warranty expired. When I plug it in, the computer reports that I plugged in "QUSB_BULK" and that it is unknown and has failed. There are no lights or sound in this room. Now I have to go tell my boss that the $800 web conferencing hardware he bought during the pandemic was a waste of money. br>br>Avoid at all costs; mediocre performance isn't worth the price, especially if it's built to fail after the alarmingly short warranty period has expired.
The money spent was not well spent. This camera is constantly outperformed by a $200 Logitech brio. I was also charged a restocking fee by the seller. Whenever possible, avoid.
The majority of the time, this camera was sub-par. The sound quality was poor, and the microphones did a poor job of filtering background noise, so I returned it. In the future, I'll be experimenting with Cisco Roomkits.
What I like about it: the picture quality is excellent, and the Poly native app allows you to adjust the picture. For virtual meetings, the microphone and sound bar are also well built with sensors that help cancel out background noise. What I don't like: the sound bar's mounting options are limited to placing it on top of a monitor. I would expect that for a large unit like this, there would be other options for securing the unit.
This is an excellent conference room speaker, microphone, and video system. a single package The video could be a lot better because the zoom resolution is a little pixilated, so there's room for improvement there. It would be fantastic if it could include a PTZ camera.
Overall, I'm pleased with this product; the video quality is good, the sound is great, and the aperture closure is a useful feature. It takes some experimenting to figure out how the remote works best with the picture, but it's a very useful piece of hardware that's a lot less expensive than many comparable systems.
