The Sync 40 and Sync 60 are probably better for multiple voices, but this model is more recommended for personal use (typically a 4 m x 4 m room). The Sync 40 is suitable for flexible/huddle rooms, while the Sync 60 is suitable for small to medium conference rooms. I used to wear my Airpods to all of my meetings, but there were so many that my battery wouldn't last until the end of the day. I began my search for a different option. br>br>At first, I thought that finding a good speakerphone would be a piece of cake (just go to Amazon and buy the top-rated option). rated product), but this was not the case for me. I eventually went through all of the devices listed below: Finally, there is the Poly Sync 20. br>br>Jabra 510br>Jabra 710br>Jabra 750br> You'll need a speakerphone that supports duplex audio (only the Jabra 750 and Poly Sync 20 do). Otherwise, you may find yourself talking over the other person without realizing it. It took a few meetings for me to realize I was doing this (and others might mistakenly think you're rude). br>br>The Jabra 750 has duplex audio, but the DSP and processing make your voice sound unnatural and distant. It was bad enough that several people would remark on the poor quality of the microphone. br>br>I finally gave the Poly Sync 20 a shot (despite the fact that finding reliable information on it was difficult), and I'm glad I did! It solved a lot of the problems I had with the Jabra, and it even came with some extra features. It accomplishes the most crucial function of my speakerphone: It supports duplex audio while maintaining the natural, unprocessed sound of my voice. As a bonus, the speaker quality for playing music is MUCH better than the Jabra, which is tuned solely for voice, with a massive mid boost and no bass. Because the Poly Sync has a flatter frequency response, it's ideal for listening to music or watching movies on a laptop. It can also be used as a phone charger, making it extremely convenient to carry in your bag. What seemed like a simple task (finding a good speakerphone for my WFH meetings) turned into a much longer search, but I'm glad I finally found the "holy grail" of speakerphones. Finally, finding reliable information about speakerphones in general was extremely difficult. The majority of the reviews appear to be affiliate marketing in nature. For me, there was no substitute for ordering the devices and personally testing the microphone and speaker quality; there was no comparison between this device and the Jabra devices after that.
In March of 2020, I began working remotely. My boss would occasionally complain about the sound quality of my system, primarily because he could hear echoes when I spoke. I've tried a variety of microphone solutions to fix the problem because I want to have a happy boss and continue working from home. A highly rated Logitech webcam with integrated microphone and a highly rated Tonor condenser USB microphone were both used. My boss was always grumbling about something. Eventually, I purchased the Poly - The Sync 20 Bluetooth speakerphone is a wireless speakerphone that connects to your phone via Bluetooth My boss stated that the sound is excellent on his end, and I agree. The issue has been resolved. br>br>By the way, when the speakerphone is used for both mic and sound, the echoes are only controlled by the speakerphone. People on the other end of the line hear an echo even when I use my desktop speaker system and the Sync 20 mic.
First and foremost, I overlooked the fact that this was a USB C-only device. That was my error, and it had no bearing on the grade I assigned. It works fine when connected to my laptop's USB C port, and the adapter to connect it to a USB A port is on its way. That was my fault, as I previously stated, and I will address it. br>br>The main issue here is that the description claims this is the team version, and the product image also shows the team version, but what I received is not. I honestly don't think this is going to be a big deal, but it was one of the reasons I purchased the product in the first place. The product is being misrepresented, albeit in a minor way, but it is still not the correct product; once the adapter arrives and I am able to use it as intended, I may increase my rating by one star. Let's see how things turn out. br>br>Overall, it appears to be well constructed and functions as expected. The battery arrived fully charged, so I'm hoping it will last the rest of the day until the adapter arrives so I can recharge it for tomorrow.
This speakerphone performs admirably. For TEAMS calls, I wanted to eliminate the need for a separate microphone and speakers on my work laptop. The sound is clear and loud, with a lot more bass than I anticipated. I set up the unit and tested the sound with a YouTube music video; my desk was vibrating from the bass, which was much better than I expected. It has three equalizer settings, one of which is bright mode, which I prefer. br>br>I'm using USB C to connect to my laptop, which is located beneath my desk. However, because the USB cable is attached and only a few feet long, I had to purchase a usbc extension cable (6 ft), which worked perfectly; if you need a longer lead, you should also purchase the extension. TEAMS integration works great, but only via USB, rather than Bluetooth, which is fine by me because I don't use Bluetooth. You can still make TEAMS calls, but you won't be able to use the mute button or other features. You can turn off voice notifications for power and volume via the web app. br>br>Again, really clear and loud sound, mic works fine, and it's a great value for the money.
