Yes, when connected to your computer or phone via bluetooth or USB, you can play music through it. All you have to do now is change the sound output device on your computer or pair it with your phone via Bluetooth.
It works with both a Mac and a PC via USB; no software is required; simply plug it in, adjust the speakers and microphone settings, and you're done. Although Bluetooth worked flawlessly with my iPhone, I was unable to connect it to my Mac (it did not appear in the list of available devices on my Mac).
Yes, there is a rechargeable battery built in. The USB A to C cable that comes with the device can be plugged into the Type-C port. To charge the speakerphone, plug it into the C port.

So far, the speaker has been outstanding. I should have gotten one years ago because I work remotely all of the time. I wouldn't use it as a stereo speaker, but the sound quality is excellent. Having it paired to both my PC and phone at the same time is extremely convenient for working remotely. The sound quality of the speakers and microphone appears to be excellent.

With a laptop, the device is simple to set up. The speaker's sensitivity is impressive, as is the volume of sound it produces when compared to a laptop speaker.
