Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me if this printer is good for printing original art onto greeting cards. In the event of a no-go, what do we have as an alternative?

In a word, yes. It's obvious that there are significant differences between the two, i.e. You will need to make alterations to your images prior to printing when you are printing on gloss, art stock, 100% rag, etc. Previewing your images with Soft Proofing is a great way to improve your output if you're using Photoshop or Light Room. Also, you MUST change your blacks from photo black to matte black when using art stock or rag paper. A simple adjustment on the printer is required.

Do you think the ink is a good value or is it rather pricey?

There is always an upfront cost with ink, especially Ultrachrome ink. You will need lasting ink on paper like Hahnemühle fine art paper if you are going to use fine art paper. Unlike printers with general purpose cartridges (such as the Epson Artisan series), the R3000 uses larger cartridges. The cartridges contain more ink, so you get a higher yield. You can save a lot of money by shopping Although this printer produces high quality prints, I wouldn't consider printing anything other than photographs using this device. (All my other printing is done on a lesser printer.

Do you have any experience with 3rd party inks such as these Here's the link Visit the website. The Amazon website. Please visit https//www.packs-e.com/ A compatible product- The volume of Canon Epson - Is Cartridgege/dp/B008T0B6X8/ref=sr_1_5 available? IE=UTF8 and QID=1415?

As far as I know, I've never used third party inks in my Epson printer, part of the reason for that is that Epson brand inks are pigment based and not dye based, like most inkjet printers. I never want to damage the intricate ink system at the heart of my printer - it is too expensive.

Purchasing a printer with black ink leaks can be avoided by searching first
3/5

This was used by a pro photographer to make some stunning There were then black streaks everywhere after a few years. My printer has been unreliable since I tried all the normal cleanings, burned through hundreds of dollars of ink, burned through the converter, and finally did some searching only to find that there is an observable problem with the sliding switch (which is also There seems to be no easy fix to this problem. What a waste of time, money, energy, and resources it will be to spend another $1,200 on a Canon ProGraf with dedicated black MK/PK Not happy with my decision.

This is such a great idea! It sort of occurred When I had to put my Epson R- in the recycle bin, my heart ached To the recycle bin with 2400

It was a machine I loved. I did twenty 8x10s a day with it for eight years. You should do the 13x19s several times each I often had to use 4x6 paper, so there was a lot of folding card stock going Based on my expectations, I expect a A better 3000 will even be The front of the unit has a digital display that shows cartridge levels and status. It's not just the bird that flies across the paper. There are separate ink cartridges. As the cartridges remain stationary, the machine isn't subjected to significant wear and tear. The speed of the machine appears to be equivalent to the R-type. There have been no problems printing any of the sizes I listed above. A R- has been added as well With Ink Republic's 3000 continuous ink system, you can print indefinitely. Buying Epson cartridges at $14 a pop is out of my price range. I have updated the December 2014 update as follows It was reported in October that a printer head had clogged fatally. To have it looked at I had to drive it to a certified service center (70 miles away). At first, the India Indian technician found it hard to comprehend that it was under warranty and quoted me $550 for the repair. As soon as he understood my English, he exchanged it for a refurbished printer free of With the R-, I never had a single problem There are 2400 minutes until the end of the day. You should not be returning a $750 printer for maintenance at this point in time. Now that I realize this is my last expensive printer, I am in a remorseful state. Prices need to be kept as low as possible so that they are From a rating of 5 stars to a rating of 3 stars, I have lowered my review.

If we are not able to We started searching for a replacement for my beloved HP B8550 wide format printer after it died
5/5

A new photo printer was on our list of priorities. We looked at the three big brands, HP, Canon and Epson. It seems that HP was dropped off the list like an iron balloon after reading too much online. Epson and Canon are left, leaving us with the R2000 and 3000 series and the Pro 100 and 10 series. The idea is to balance the reviews by taking into consideration what you need. Of course, you will always find negative reviews about anything you search for. Originally we were going to replace the R2000 with the R3000, but because the difference in cost was so small, we decided to jump The first thing you should know about this printer is that it's Big. As soon as you get it, ensure you have adequate space for It took me a while to get it setup and eventually removed the old HP drivers and install the new Epson ones (a task all by itself). I then printed some test pages from PS ESS 10 using the "Photo" and "Quality" options. The lower models of these printers use pigment-based ink vs. photo printer inks, which is a big difference in quality. Ink with pigment is the best option for prints with studio quality. It was an absolute surprise when the pictures I had printed came out. In comparison to some pictures we had taken not too long ago at a studio, they looked even better. With regards to color, the blacks were better than anything the top of the line HP photo printer ever produced, and the overall overall look and feel of the printer was phenomenal. Stock Kodak Premium Glossy paper was used for this project. It would certainly look more professional if you used a better paper (such as red river) and used the profile of the paper. My eyes are wide open right now. * Finally, with Epson R2000/R3000 printers, you will have the option to use aftermarket ink (Cone from inkmall is our favourite), that are usually far better and are inexpensive compared with Epson The warranty is not void with them, unlike HP. Therefore, as of today, I have found NOTHING bad to say, this printer was a great investment for us, the print quality is beyond anything we could ever hope for and I am hoping to get better inks in the future to further enhance this printer's capabilities.
