Yes, entering your account number and the bank's routing number is a very straightforward procedure. The square account keeps track of all transactions, fees paid, and other information in one place, making it very easy to review. You only need to set up your account once, and the funds will be deposited automatically. I've never had to wait longer than two days for my money.
Chip cards are not accepted!
If you live in the United States, you can find out more about it here. When you swipe a chip card, you're unlikely to get seller protection, which is why chip card readers were introduced in the United States. in 2015.

Selected User Reviews For Square Reader for magstripe (with headset jack)
It's fine, I suppose, because this wasn't a particularly expensive item, and I now have another on hand, as well as a sticker stating that I accept credit card payments.
This card reader isn't bad at all. However, it has some disadvantages, the most significant of which is that there is a small transfer fee every time you want to transfer money to your bank, and you must spend additional funds to expedite the process. Most people will see the low price and assume everything will be fine until you realize it's not a business to give a business a tool that was designed with squares in mind, which is such a stupid business move (if I may be so blunt). When there are other readers on the market that are as cheap or even cheaper, and they don't charge a fee to transfer the money to your bank, the reader makes no sense.
It was so easy to download and use the app for an art show that I bought it. It was quick and easy, and customers appreciated the ability to make purchases at the point of sale. I was even able to send receipts and invoices via email. It saved my life.
I really want to like this product because it made my life so much easier at craft fairs, but I have to say that the card reader itself isn't my favorite. The app is fantastic, but the card reader has never worked for me. I'd recommend spending a little more money for the chip reader because, unlike the magstrip reader, it works great and is very simple to use.
Great product, but don't buy it; instead, use the app to get a free one.
I have an iPhone 7 plus, so I had to use my little extra jack for earphones (which is super annoying, but that's Apple's fault, not Square's), but everything worked fine. I swiped my own card to test it out when setting up Square, and it read my card fine, and the transaction went smoothly.
I would strongly suggest it.
