This device is generally very good, although there are a few annoying bugs
3/5

I have enjoyed many things about it, including the fast wireless connections, multiple input methods, But the bugginess of Windows Mobile XP and issues with power management are extremely frustrating. The Mobile XP applications do not close when they are closed, they are simply minimized and are still using resources when they are closed. The only way to truly close them is to go through the equivalent of Task Manager and shut down those As well, there have been times when I have noticed some applications will get lost in the background and will not Usually, the only way out of this problem is to reset the iPAQ, which means losing all the data that hasn't already

I have experienced two problems from a power management standpoint. In the first place, an after market battery I purchased does not interface properly with the battery monitoring in the iPAQ, which never displays a However, rather than leaving it on for a while, it starts reporting low battery pressure even though it continues to work for a long time. The bigger problem is that the iPAQ keeps switching Then I will turn it back on when I leave it on my desk, consuming battery life. I have not done much research on how to fix this problem, but I will have to start very Because I did not buy this, I would have to go through hours of research to resolve the issue. The power button can also be accidentally pressed if it is not properly secured. With my nice leather case I was able to carry my iPAQ around, but I found that when I put it in a duffle or wore it on my hip it Although I can't always tell exactly when the button was pushed or when the iPAQ powered on, I wish HP would have revised the design of the power button in order to improve its protection. *Bear in mind that this product has some bugs. However, other than the ones I listed above, I think it is a very good product. The wireless setup is simple, lots of software comes with it, and there is lots of software available online as well. Interfaces with your desktop or laptop PC via USB or Bluetooth are also easy to set up. I have another warning to issue. It does offer a mobile version of Excel, but don't expect it to handle complex spreadsheets developed with Microsoft's big boy version of the program. The mobile version will not work with a lot of formatting and formulas. This is a great spreadsheet app, however, for everyday use. There might be a sale on eBay soon for my iPAQ.

It's a good piece of There are a lot of quirks in the Now that I've had mine for a little while, I'm getting more comfortable with it
3/5

As I stated in the other reviews, I like it mainly because of these reasons. WXP Home synched easily with my device, settings for WIFI were simple with just a couple of taps, and there was plenty of extra software available for Software that I use for my medical practice is a subscription. I am not experiencing any issues with power management even with an SD card with 1GB of memory. I think it is the goofy OS (Microshaft/Soft) that is the problem. Item #1. On the Today screen (Desktop), some of the icon views of the device status are missing. If it doesn't seem to work, tap the START button, the settings menu, and TODAY, then uncheck the appropriate item. You will be able to remove it when you exit. You can go back through and re-check the box again, and it (and the missing status icons) will appear. There are some instances when the device cannot be turned on for whatever reason. There is nothing wrong with you, so do not be upset. Placing the stylus into the soft reset hole will reset the device. A BLINK is also a Rebooting the device is followed by the screen coming back on. There are parts of the device's navigation that are intuitive, and there are other parts that are Despite all my viewings, there are still some screens I have not seen before. There is no way for me to figure out how I got there or how I got The Internet Explorer is a big memory and storage It is possible to clear the cache of stored files and history of IE by going to OPTIONS in the menu bar. It is only possible to clean out the memory cache by soft rebooting. In addition, as you use IE more frequently, you will notice that the available system memory continuously decreases. The system gets a soft reboot every week now to ensure that the temp files are cleaned up as much The overall effect is good, though I like some aspects of it more than others. Having to fiddle with tech stuff is not a bother to me because I'm used to tinkering with it. My entire work team uses it daily, and all of the included and extra software works perfectly!.

Rather take the chance and buy a 2215 used
3/5

The pros are It's a beautiful screen, but it has some cons One of the quirkier features of this unit is that it keeps turning itself on and draining the batteries, as other users have found. The last time I tried to turn it on, a soft reset would not work. I used the same keyboard which worked well with my old HP2215, but I had to touch the screen with the stylus every 5 minutes (maximum length permitted) to get the keyboard to function. It will be activated upon activation. I found the worst defect to be the screen turning on automatically each time a new song started up in WM It is true that the standard battery in the 2495 is massive, but it doesn’t last as long as the This new battery requires a new back for the iPAQ since its volume is even greater. Another issue stereo output did not work if I turned the headset plug a slight amount (but the handset continued to work). There is a problem with the flip cover it is not as secure as a third-party metal case, and when the screen is on, it shows smudges. While I could continue to go on and on with smaller issues, I have returned the 2495, even though the 2215 can no longer access the SD card. In the end, I'll probably purchase a smart phone when it finally dies.

This HP Ipaq hx 2495 is a laptop
4/5

The entry-level iPaq I had was an entry-level unit As of 1910, there were 25 million people in the world I worked in a store for quite a while. There were a lot of issues (some of which I believe were caused by a bad aftermarket synch/charging cord). The laptop was eventually destroyed, and I was forced to replace it with a Palm TX, which I soon The driver supports Windows XP, Vista, and 7 Yes, I am efficient in my work. My original machine was an old iPaq hx2495 that I have since replaced with the new one. If I had to give it a fifth star, I would have given it 5 instead of 4, but I would need the unit to function without problems for another several months first. This software had no trouble loading and working on two computer systems that I had synched with it. With ActivSync 4, you can quickly and easily sync your devices. There is no apparent flaw in the code for version 5. In addition to the connections appearing to be better built than my 1910, I have been able to use the WiFi to access Internet Explorer and my email without having any problems as well. At the moment, I am very happy with this purchase, but my cost was It should bring me pleasure because it's over $100! It would be worth it to me just to have something that operates like this and is powered by Microsoft, rather than just something that is compatible with Microsoft. Don't be afraid to spend more There's no point in avoiding.
