It doesn't appear to be a problem at all to sync (reported elsewhere), whether it's via bluetooth or direct cable. Windows can be a headache in general, so the reported problem with the iPAQ 1945 and windows sync might be due to something else. It is a feature I have never had a problem with. In my experience, it has been a pretty decent piece of equipment for the price, and I have become addicted to it's basic features. While there may be more powerful devices available if I shop around some more, this one is a good value for what it offers in terms of price and power.
My HP Ipaq 1945 was delivered 2 weeks ago and I have been very pleased with it. It syncronizes with Outlook, Word, and Excel pretty quickly, and the bluetooth function works wonderfully once you figure out how to use it. However, there are a few drawbacks In addition, it comes without a protective case, and you have to get your own screen covers for the LCD. In continuous operation, the battery lasts about 4 hours. This device would be a good fit if you are looking for a simple to use device and if you need to use your standard outlook features. You can take it with you anywhere because it's thin and light, and all the information you need is right at your fingertips.
When my iPaq 1910 would freeze up every couple of months and would require a hard reset (losing all my data), I just accepted that until the one time when it was impossible to A week after my purchase, I called HP (1 year) and was told my warranty had expired on that day, but they would send me a shipping box and "honor" my warranty. It is a different story when the iPaq gets to the shop and they diagnose it as having a "bad motherboard". The cost to fix it has now risen to almost $200. I was informed my warranty expired on 2/16/04 by the customer service representative. When I called HP, I said that was when I called. Now that the offer has expired, he said, how do you want to pay for it. No matter what I tried to get his attention, he ignored me. It's fine to send it back, I told him. The best advice I can give you is to NOT BUY A.
Now, I would love to find one that would be a bit better in wireless, if possible.
A piece like this can be purchased on Amazon. This is why I'm returning it, since the yellow color on the screen didn't appeal to me. Other than that, it's a stunning piece of art. Having not used it much, I don't have much to say regarding its In light of the yellow tint, I would like to share what others have said about it.
