For an old, broken model, this is a low-cost upgrade
3/5

It was used to replace an older model so that I could transfer the contents to a newer model.

VGA THERE ARE NOW THREE OF THESE IN MY COLLECTION
5/5

IT'S WHAT I REMEMBER ABOUT THAT VGA SCREEN, THAT THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OUT, THAT'S WHY I PAID FOR IT THREE TIMES AND NOW HAVE THREE WORKING AND PARTS.

It's a pain
3/5

after that, self-awareness deconstructs I previously owned a Dell Axim, which I sold on eBay to fund the purchase of the 4700. The Axim was well-designed and simple to use. The 4700 has proven to be too difficult to use on a regular basis. The WiFi software can be temperamental, PDF files don't always display (it doesn't have a converter like the Axim), the backup battery drains in a few days even when the unit is turned off, and it doesn't have enough memory for some apps. It's been a year since I got it, and now it won't start. It's just past the warranty period. The only thing that appears is a white screen. Everything has been tried, including using the boot loader to update the firmware. HP's technical support was completely useless. After spending around $600 on this item that I haven't used much, I now have to spend a few hundred dollars on repairs. The screen, on the other hand, is fantastic! I'm thinking of removing the screen and selling it on eBay.

The warranty has been voided! When it comes to HP, be cautious
3/5

They don't stand by their promises. Claim that a defective motherboard isn't covered by the warranty (despite the fact that the seals were intact). How is it possible that a mobo that has been damaged is not covered? )br>br>When the first problems appeared, I sought help from their online tech support. My initial complaint was "lost," as was the record of the chat session (which I kept a copy of, but they don't want to see it). My entire experience with HP has been that they don't provide customer service; instead, they provide lip service, and every interaction with them has been frustrating and futile. The technician didn't understand anything, and I had to repeat myself three times before he began to pay attention. Either that, or he was unable to communicate in English. it's a distinct possibility br>br>Horrible, rude, and IGNORANT tech support. br>br>I returned the unit, but they want nearly $300 to fix it. I'd rather buy a dell or a palm for that amount of money. To hell with HP and their dreadful after-sales service. This is my second bad experience with HP PDAs and their tech support/repairs. br>br>I've had two bad experiences with HP PDAs and their tech support/repairs. I will never do business with HP again, and I strongly advise you against purchasing one of their cute little computers. They're not particularly well made, as they don't seem to be able to withstand standard shipping, and you're left with a $500 paperweight. HP is a company that has earned the right to go bankrupt. br>br>PS: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words " The touch pad is largely ineffective, and after a few months, the protective cover begins to peel away. The screen is lovely, and it's crystal clear enough to print a tiny calendar on. The handwriting recognition on this one appears to be better than on my old 5555. However, I would prefer a biometric scan to the touchpad. br>br>There is one vexing MS quirk: My desktop is unable to read the PDA version of word/excel documents saved on a SD card. There isn't any kind of translation software available!.

Simply the best PDA on the market today
5/5

I spent months researching PDAs before deciding on this one, and I'm glad I went with my gut and bought it. It is, without a doubt, the best PDA available today. I've had it for about 3 months and can honestly say I use it for everything from playing music (which sounds just as good as my IPOD) to keeping notes, storing files, looking at pictures, and so on. I also like the fact that I can jump on the internet quickly while waiting at Starbucks or the bookstore without having to lug around a large laptop, cords, cables, and so on. br>br>I think I'm quietly moving away from using my notebook computer because I've been using br>br>Both bluetooth and wireless have been a breeze to use, and I've had better reception with this unit than I have with my PC. br>br>Also, having the option to purchase additional storage space is fantastic! br>br>However, let's get down to business. The biggest one has to be the price! At $400 a pop, this is as expensive as buying a new computer, and it's not an impulse buy (unless your last name is Trump). So you'll have to convince yourself, your spouse, or both, that this is something you truly require. The fact that this is not an IPOD, a flash drive, or a voice recorder is also a drawback. My IPOD has the advantage of allowing me to skip to the next sound by pressing a button. You have to go to different programs to get different things done, and as convenient as it is to have one thing do so many things, nothing is done automatically with the push of a button, but you can do almost anything with the push of a few buttons. br>br>Apart from that, it's a fantastic little unit. If you're looking for a PDA, this is the one you should go with. Don't be stuck with one that doesn't fulfill all of your requirements. Spend the extra duckets on your machine and enjoy it; it's pricey, but well worth it.
