The device has a USB interface and is a document scanner / camera. About 10 inches wide and 10 inches high is the device. Folded, the size is 25 by 3 inches. Applied to your document, it stands 12" above the bottom of your document when unfolded. Through the USB cable, which transfers data as well, it is powered. A light is built into the lens, and its brightness can be adjusted. One of the corners of the device has a loop for a cable lock. There is a slot for a microSD card, as well as controls on the top for magnifying and capturing images. This base is equipped with a microphone. There are also USB ports and an HDMI port on the back of the base. A CD with software is also included in the box. Computers running Windows are the only ones that can use the software. As far as I am concerned this device is fine for online instruction. This display works well for viewing video, especially if you are using a white board or writing on paper. The microphone works very As far as scanning simple documents goes, the device works well. Alternatively, you can save the data to a microSD card (sold separately) to transfer it to your computer. Despite the fact that the software is not intuitive and buggy, it's not a bad product. As a whole, the device works well for live display and it can also serve as a document camera, but the included software needs a lot of work.
