I would have bought this a long time ago if I had known about it. I used amortization schedules for a long time before switching to Excel. Carrying this around with me as a real estate investor is far easier than carrying an amortization schedule.

As a Newby mortgage loan officer, I had my hp3c calculator until about 15 years into my now 31-year career, when I met calculated industries. I needed a second calculator for use at home, as well as this one for billing. It's a lot easier to use than the HP, and it's a lot less expensive.

I paid just under $40 for a Texas Instruments BAII Plus calculator at a local department store. After two weeks, I returned it as follows: 1) It felt cheaply made while I was using it; 2) The display was difficult to read, and because the crystal was slightly below the window, the shadow on the edge of the display partially obscured the digit(s) unless your light source was directly above the calculator. After that, I went to Amazon to look for something to read. Visit com to compare and contrast financial calculators. I chose the Calculated Industries Qualifier Plus IIIx as a result of my research. I got what I consider to be a fantastic calculator for just a few dollars more! The display is much easier to read now that there are no shadows and it is brighter. The buttons have a'soft-touch' feel to them. The 'touch' feature makes a significant difference in the calculator's feel, as opposed to the cheap-feeling Texas Instruments calculators. Also, the Calculated Industries' "000" button is a lifesaver. Why on earth wouldn't every financial calculator have a thousands ("000") button when dealing with mortgages and most figures in the thousands? That button alone will probably save you 50 times a day from pressing the zeros button!
