My children enjoy science and are homeschooled. A stereoscope (light from above) and a microscope (light from below) were both on my wish list. Both are accomplished with this small scope. It's not a high-powered microscope, but it's adequate for their age (11 years). They'll be able to look at slides that have already been prepared. But the best part is that they get to choose 3D objects to examine each week, such as a dead hornet we found in the yard, a flower, and so on. Using the stereoscope feature, they can examine the object at a good magnification, which is ideal for their age. In the coming years, I'm sure we'll need to upgrade to a more powerful microscope, but for now, this is an excellent tool for our science studies!.
My 8-year-old son was ecstatic to use his birthday money to purchase this. There are some excellent starter slides included in this package. I wish there had been a little more guidance, explanation of the slides, or experiment ideas. We didn't like the brine shrimp, but it could have been due to user error.
This is an excellent microscope for use at home or in the classroom. The slides were well-prepared, and teaching students how to use them was simple. My only reservation is that the eyepieces appeared to be extremely sloppy. It was easy for them to fall out when the students were moving the microscopes, which may have been done on purpose.
My six-year-old son This was a huge hit with my nephew, who was overjoyed to receive it for Christmas. When I first bought it, I was concerned that no six-year-old would enjoy it. On Christmas Day, any child would be delighted to receive a microscope ("Why didn't I just get him a car or something!"). "), but he turned out to be incorrect. It probably helps that his father is a cardiologist who has spent a lot of time in a real lab with "real" microscopes, so I guess the less is just knowing who you're talking to. Anyway, it's a great first microscope, and he was blown away by everything. For the price, it appears to be a sturdy construction with good quality.
For younger learners, this is an excellent beginner microscope. My two sons, ages 3 and 5, enjoy looking for things to investigate more closely around the house and in nature. The microscope is well-made, and I like that it comes with a protective cover. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a beginner microscope to purchase this!.
The microscope is in good working order. The two stars are due to the fact that the bottom screw is stuck, making it impossible to insert batteries! To make do, my child is using his flashlight as a light source. br>This is unacceptably low for such a high-priced microscope.
My granddaughter received the microscope as a present for her ninth birthday. She adores it, and it's incredibly simple for her to operate. We admire her ability to examine anything with a scope. Things don't have to be prepared on a slide, though she does have everything she needs to do so. It's the ideal present for her inquisitive nature. We had a lot of fun looking at sugar, salt, and other commonplace items both inside and outside the house.
I bought it as a present for my 9-year-old son. She enjoyed it, but it was clear that she would require parental assistance. Excellent craftsmanship.
