Questions & Answers

Is the iCE or the regular Snowball better for making singing videos?

According to what I've heard, the snowball actually sounds a lot better. I suppose it'll have to be for a variety of reasons, one of which is that there's a $10-to-$20 difference between the two. The fact that this is marketed as a "Skype mic" makes a difference of 20. " I also believe the blue snowball has a greater color range. Three different "modes" or polar patterns can be found on the blue snowball. The first is a cardiod mode, which is a common pickup pattern in condenser microphones and is extremely useful. In front of the mic, it primarily picks up sound in a heart-shaped radius. A cardiod 10db pad is the second setting. It's great for loud sources and getting up close and personal with the talent. The omnidirectional mode is the third and final option. "Omni" is a Greek word that means "many," as in "many directions." The mic will pick up sound from all directions in this mode. Although the sound quality will suffer as a result, this method may be useful for recording a board meeting. Overall, the blue snowball iCE is a great, compact USB microphone for the low-budget market, or in other words, a blue snowball with fewer features and lower sound quality.

My PC has a limited amount of USB storage. Is there a model that does not require a USB connection? That is to say, it connects to a standard microphone jack?

It's a microphone that can only be used with a computer via USB. Purchase an External USB Port Hub if USB space on your PC is limited. I purchased one that replaces one of my laptop's three USB ports and adds eight more.

I hope this isn't a silly question, but am I supposed to hear my voice through a normal microphone or not?

Go to your sound settings, then recording devices, then right click and select properties on your snowball mic. You'll want to look for the settings that say "hear this mic."

Is it compatible with the PlayStation 4?

Wouldn't work on a PS4 Slim because it isn't supported. Until I plugged the microphone into the PS4 and rebooted it. Evidently, some sort of driver or configuration has been tweaked, because it now recognizes and works.

For singing, it's perfect
5/5

I bought this microphone to use for singing, and I know a lot of musicians are looking for a review like this, so here it is. The sound quality is excellent, the interface is simple to use, and I have found no flaws. The audio can be heard in the video for yourself. I 100% recommend getting this mic if you are looking for a mic on a budget!.

What is the best microphone price?   This microphone is fantastic
5/5

And even though I already liked it, it got 200% better once I got a boom arm that clamps the desk and places the Snowball mic next to my face. In addition, I have a pop filter. Now I'm able to capture crystal-clear audio. Even with my laptop fan and AC running in the background (which I remove with Audacity), it sounds pretty good. Also. I was sick with a cold when I recorded the video. Sorry.  .

The best condenser microphone for the money
5/5

This is an honest review of a product that I purchased with my own money. Just thought I'd mention it. br>br>This is, without a doubt, the best PC microphone money can buy. I haven't found any better condenser microphones that work well with a PC for a lower price. Advantages: br>br>
- Sound that is crystal clearbr>- It works right out of the box when you plug it into your computer; no setup is required. br>- It's only $40! br>br>Pros: best mic in price rangebr>br>Cons:
- It picks up some background noise, but you can simply adjust the microphone sensitivity on your computer and you'll be fine. br>br>I would recommend this mic to anyone who is interested in doing YouTube or streaming. There are undoubtedly better options available, but if you're on a tight budget, this is the one to go with. This microphone also works well with all of the PC games I play (CSGO, PUBG, and Overwatch), so if you don't want to use a headset mic while gaming, this is a good option. This microphone comes highly recommended! br>br>.

Blue Microphone should be avoided at all costs
3/5

This is an updated review because my ordeal with this abomination hasn't ended yet. The mic worked perfectly for two weeks when I first bought it in 2017. All of my audio sounded like I was in a fish bowl after those two weeks. I had to return it twice: the first time was when I was a kid, and the second time was when I was an The replacement mics from Amazon were excellent. I had to contact Blue Microphone directly for the third time, and they took three months to respond. They only responded to my email after I inquired about the lack of response in a follow-up email. I was finally able to return the microphone to the company directly. After ten months of unsuccessful attempts to contact the company and demand a refund, I decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. At this point, I came to the conclusion that this mic was a lost cause, and that the right thing to do would be to simply refund my money if they were going to ignore it for months after I had already returned it. While doing so, I discovered that Blue Microphone does this quite frequently. I'm not sure where all of these glowing reviews are coming from, because they're a terrible company. Instead of responding to BBB, Blue Microphone sent me a new microphone. I'm not even going to use it because I'm sick of it, and I'm assuming this new mic is just as bad. Why wouldn't I think that based on my previous experiences with microphones? What irritates me is that I know I would not have received a response from them if I hadn't reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Consider the following scenario: Customers return defective microphones to this company, and you never hear from them again unless you press them. You're a bad business, Blue Microphone. br>br>If you buy from Blue Microphone, you do so at your own risk. Check out the BBB for more information on them. This company's products are not something I would recommend to anyone.

Snowball! Snow sound effects are now available!   (This is a video of me giving this review, but I'm speaking into this mic so you can hear how good it is
5/5

) ) My voice has never been picked up correctly by a microphone. It fades out when I speak low and cuts out when I speak high. This microphone, on the other hand, picks up every word I say without picking up any strange background humming! I'm not some super-special fella who knows what he's talking about when it comes to mic quality, but I think this is one of the best instruments I've played with while dabbling. It has a lot of weight! It's like lifting a puppy when you're doing the ball core. To keep the legs mostly stable, tighten the screw at the bottom of the stand that comes with it. br>br>I've decided to disregard all of the other reviews emphasizing the importance of safety and secure desk holds, and just stick the dangling thing anywhere. I slid it under a pile of pillows on a table, next to my keyboard. When no one is looking, I'm not very professional, and my desk doubles as a bed. He doesn't fall over and, no matter where I put him, he picks up on my noises. (Oh no, I've given it a gender. ) The next step is to give it a name, and this is when you realize you have an unhealthy love for something. ) I've been karaoke-ing nonstop, and my poor long-term memory is suffering as a result. My hearing-impaired boyfriend can now hear my true voice clearly and correctly. br>br>I ordered a pop filter, which has yet to arrive. I'll probably need it eventually, but for now, the pop pop pop is fine. I just covered the obnoxiously bright red light on the front with a piece of tape. Simple. To use this, you'll need a quiet room, but not too quiet. For example, my computer and my heater do not register when they turn off. But first, I'm going to crunch some fresh snow from outside so you can hear how crisp it is, with a metric you can probably copy. [I'm moving and dropping them here because I'm getting snow all over my keyboard and mouse. ]br>br>I adore it; it was well worth the money (I paid $30 or so due to repackaging and used, but it was well worth the $50 or so). ) and I already know this little cutie (and it is cute; my aging mother saw it and started laughing and wanted to hold it) will be a great addition to my vocal repertoire. br>br>Edit: I'm not sure why the review took an hour to complete. On my computer, it's just a 2-minute clip. When it came to uploading, I must have rolled a 1.
