I'm not a fan of the Behringer speakers, but they're not all bad; I've only done a side-by-side comparison. Overall, the EV won over the Mackie thump15, which had a slightly lower bass tone. I apologize for not being more helpful.
Hello, you do not require one; I purchased one and it operates perfectly on 220v.
The ELX does not have the dsp which can help tune the speaker for different applications and low pass filters so it can be matched to different subwoofers the ELX is more geared to a mobile DJ who plays in a variety of places without the need for external processors and crossovers the ELX is a better build I ran mine side by side they do not sound that far apart both are clear in the high's and mid's and have good bass as I said you tune the Z
There is an XLR output. I'm not sure if that's for another speaker's output or for input.

The speakers are fantastic, but EV clearly cut corners on the built-in amplifiers to save money. I had to purchase an external noise filter to get them to be quiet while idle (none of my previous receivers had ever done this, and some were over 20 years old), and, as others have pointed out, there is no fan, so they get hot even when I'm not pushing them. This isn't a big deal for me because I'm using them as computer speakers, but if you're at a big party and it's already hot, it could be a problem. However, once I got the external noise filter, I was much happier with the sound quality; it made a huge difference.
I'm a professional mobile DJ who provides live sound for local bands at festivals and a series of concerts in the park. After DJing back-to-back with a new set of these speakers (EV ZLX 15P), back weddings and as front-of-house speakers for a 5-star hotel I'm extremely pleased with the full sound, ease of mobility, and ease of use of my four-piece classic rock band. For this mid-priced item ($399), the price is unbeatable. speaker at a reasonable volume I considered adding a subwoofer, but the bass produced by these speakers in the "Music," "Club," and "Live" modes is more than sufficient for most indoor and outdoor venues with capacities of up to 500 people. The speakers are very responsive to sound board adjustments, and if you're a DJ or sound technician on a budget, these speakers will suffice - and will make you happy.
These are excellent speakers, but you should be aware that the 1000-watt rating is merely a marketing ploy. We bought these to replace an old pair of Peavy Sp5Ti (250 watts each). They are basically just as loud and sound just as good or better across the spectrum while saving a ton of weight. These are used for wedding DJ work as well as larger neighborhood gatherings. I believe we had realistic expectations and are very pleased with our choice.
You're looking for a speaker with a crisp, clean sound? And without having to break the bank? This is the one you've been looking for. The sound is crystal clear, with no distortion, and it is loud and long-lasting. It's a little heavy, but that's to be expected in this genre. It's a 15, to be precise. Must own!.
This was a great way to get the job done! Even at high volumes, the sound is extremely loud and crisp, and the bass is excellent, even when used alone. I would strongly suggest it.
These speakers are a tad on the loud side. I conducted extensive research on speakers in order to find one that would be suitable for our needs. We thought we'd need two, but just one worked perfectly, so we're going to buy two more for our weight room and mount them on the walls. The best value for money is electric vehicles.
We use these speakers all the time at our gigs.
For the time being, this appears to be a very good investment.
