Is there an amplifier built into it?
If you purchase the three-piece set, One of the items in this package is an amplifier. The RSM12P speakers are not amplified and are passive. The RSM12A from Rockville is an amplification-equipped active monitor.
Is it possible to connect a mic cable and a microphone to this device to record vocals? What are power amplifiers if I'm not familiar with them?
Your microphones and instruments must be connected to a pre-amplifier. Plug the pre-amp into the amplifier or mixer. amplification / mixer into the power amplifier
