My wife's present - She was both surprised and ecstatic. These are very appealing, appear to be quite durable, and are enjoyable to use. My wife and I are not professionals (by any stretch of the imagination) - We found these to be enjoyable diversion from life's stresses, despite the fact that they are quite heavy. As a result, I'd give portability three stars, but that shouldn't be considered a drawback. They're BIG - As a result, they're not particularly transportable. What is the maximum portability of a complete drum set?.
Nice congas, but the large one has a couple of small dents in it. It's possible that it came from the factory or was damaged in transit. There's no way of knowing which is which. Perhaps that was the case because the metal stand was packed in with the large drum. It wasn't bad enough for me to pack them up again, but it was disappointing.
The drums are about as portable as any standard size conga drum, and the mount is extremely solid and stable. They're a little heavier than my previous set, but I think that's a good thing, and the sound is fantastic. For the price, it's a great deal.
After tuning them, they have a perfect sound and look amazing. I would have paid a lot more for these just because they look and sound so good!.
