Wood stave shells (antique tobacco burst finish, matte) - solid rubberwood staves are cut and assembled based on their color and grain to deliver a consistent sound - precise proportions allow the drums to complement each other and sound full and sweet

Classic sound with buffalo skin heads - fitted with natural buffalo skin heads, you will hear a sound that is very warm and with a lot of depth along with sharp highs and a great feel - the heads measure 6.34" and 8".

The Meinl Free Ride Suspension System - the two drums are joined by a patented construction that prevents any holes from being drilled in the shells. This allows for greater resonant sound quality and is versatile enough to work with any bongo stand.

The Meinl SSR rounded rims (black powder-coated steel) sit lower than traditional bongo rims and have a rounded edge for comfort and control - this design helps ensure that your hands do not come into contact with the rim as you play.
