Selected User Reviews For Latin Percussion LP601NY-VSB LP City Wood Bongos - Vintage Sunburst
I decided to do things by the numbers and learn the traditional Cuban patterns, which has turned into a minor hobby. The bongos are well-made and durable. After some trial and error, I was able to fine-tune them to the point where they sounded decent. I believe some people may be hesitant to tighten them up as much as they need to be, particularly the small drum (macho), which sounds best when it cracks sharply. Nonetheless, because the LP City Bongos are smaller than standard, they will never produce the same sound as professional bongos. That isn't to say it isn't a good sound; it simply isn't the same. br>br>Also, I'm a tall person (6'4"), and some techniques are difficult for me to perform properly because my hands are too large and the drums are too small, but I've learned to adapt. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase and grateful that it has led me down a new path of musical discovery.
I used to play the drums when I was younger, but now that I'm 65, I don't find it as convenient or as simple as it used to be. I bought a single Congo drum a few years ago, but it's not enough for listening to music while sitting around. I watched a short instructional video on how to tune and play a simple constant three-hit beat, and I've found that they're a lot of fun to play to almost any song. LP makes TERRIFIC percussion instruments that are an excellent, low-cost option for any and all occasions. Nobody, from a novice to a seasoned pro, could possibly disagree. The color of the sunburst is also very rich. Anyone can play to their hearts' content after spending a few moments watching one of the instructional videos.
It's a little heavier than I expected, but that's not a negative for me; in fact, it's a plus. It appears to be well-made and durable. These will be used in a drum circle. will be easy to transport. These will, without a doubt, last a long time. The sound quality was excellent and consistent. For group drumming, I prefer a bassier drum. These did not let me down. The amount of space is ideal. They weren't too big for my small hands (I'm 5'5"), but they were great for my sons (one is 6'5" and the other is 6'3") who also played them. So I think they're versatile: they sound great, but they're also a lovely little set of drums that are simple to tune. (Although they didn't really need it when they got there. ).
It's a lovely sound, and it's also a lovely piece of music. We've been squabbling about who gets to play them.
The sound is incredible, and the build quality is excellent. I now take it to all of my Latin DJ gigs and also share it with the patrons because it's an excellent instrument for both beginners and experts. It won't cost you a fortune and will provide hours of entertainment at any gathering.
These are professional-grade, with a solid construction and impressive weight that will last for years. The tone is superb, and tuning it with a wrench is simple. The price is unbeatable for such a high-quality instrument. These are excellent and could easily be played in a professional band.
The color is stunning. It sounds fantastic.
