Questions & Answers

The denon prime 4 can trigger samples from an akai lpd8 (or some type of usb sampler pad) but Is there a way to connect an akai lpd8 to it?

If it has 16 pads and supports Serato, why would you even need an external controller to trigger samples?

What is the best way for me to hook up my turntables to channels ?

We're here to help you with Denon DJ! In addition to channels 3 and 4, turntables can be connected to these channels. You may also email or call us using the contact information on denondj if you have any other questions. Go to http//support.com/.

Is there a way for the screen to be displayed on external devices with video output?

Check this out if you want Denon DJ support! Because there are no dedicated video outputs on the Prime 4, you may not be able to display something exactly as it appears on the screen. In theory, the Prime 4 can be used as a controller for DJ software as well, such as Denon DJ Engine, and the video feed from these software programs can be viewed on an external device. If you have any other questions, please contact us using the Go to http//support.com/.

Denon has supplanted Pioneer in the home audio market
3/5

3/7/21 [EDIT] The Prime 4 has been causing major problems for the past year and a half, along with a total lack of support from Denon/InMusic until very recently, which is why I felt I had to revisit The side randomly locks up, preventing track playback. It is possible to fix this by hard resetting it, but when I did that on my first gig with the mixer, the atmosphere and my set were virtually ruined. That's right, the worst nightmare of a DJ. This is the first time I've seen a show like this During the next year, I obsessively researched every possible possibility to find a solution to the stoppage problem with Denon hardware. It was the internal SSD drive? I took that out and put the Prime library on an external USB drive, no difference. Maybe my files were corrupt, or maybe I was playing the wrong ones? Whenever the right deck is used, all aspects work properly. What is software? Tested all three updates (1. , 2. , and 3. The numbers 4 through 1 indicate the date range. I have been trying to get Denon to acknowledge the issue and help me for the past year and a half, and now I have finally obtained The inauguration will take place in March 2021 Having just received a RMA for the P4, I have returned it for For now, I am just crossing my fingers that the next one doesn't have the same errors and that I will be confident to use it live again once I build up my confidence. It will take time for me to figure this out and I'll update this review accordingly. All in all, let me say this If you'd like to know all the amazing details about what the P4 has to offer, check out my original review below. Though I admit I might have just been the victim of a lemon, I still believe it is capable of great things. I'm probably not going to buy the same car again, just as I wouldn't buy a lemon car. br />br />[Original Review] The Prime 4 is finally here and it was worth the wait. The Denon DJ K-10 is one of the best machines ever, and it has addressed the top concerns of DJs with this machine by addressing the complaints mentioned above- DJs in the city have had this advantage for many This entails the dependence on a laptop and a limited range of In no particular order, here are the three most groundbreaking features of Prime 4 It's like this You do not need a laptop for this event The CPU and memory onboard the computer allow all software processing to be done internally. This is the #1 reason I and many others have switched from Traktor or Serato to Prime. It has a built-in SATA drive bay which can accommodate up to two regular drives. Solid state drives (I have a 2TB SSD in my case) of any size are compatible with 5" drives. In addition to that, it also comes with FOUR additional USB 3. 0 ports. The microSD slot is in addition to the 0 ports. This is insane. It's like this It is not only beautiful but super functional and easy to use thanks to its 10" touchscreen. Thanks to the robust search tool, I've prepared a huge onboard music collection, and I was happy to find that I can easily load tracks with my finger swipes. The Prime 4 comes with a whole host of great features in addition to those featured on the Prime 3. Here are a few Besides providing high quality audio outputs, it also features a robust four-channel mixer, plenty of digital FX settings (including reverbs, filters, and more), jog wheels that display the track's album art, and pitch sliders with heavy turntables. Voicing tension, awesome lighting scheme with a great light show that starts as soon as the unit boots, traditional inputs with ducking, effects, etc, phono amp and grounding pin for TTs, zone 2 outputs, great channel meters, and an adjustable height control. The screen can be adjusted (and a shield can be used to protect it when not in use), the faders have good tension, and native FLAC is supported by the device. There are just so many items on the list. Although Pioneer is still trying to find a way to bring their own product to market, there is simply no device like it. A fantastic addition is this A WiFi network. It has yet to be officially released in software but the hardware has been released. It is only a question of imagination what the possible uses could be I would like the internal drive of the P4 to be networked We support access to online subscription services and music "lockers" for live content from nearly endless libraries, as well as integration with current and future network devices, and yes, even just to download software or firmware updates. DJs will increasingly use this technology and Denon has taken it upon themselves to forge ahead in this new territory of hardware and software integration while they may not have invented it, they are clearly committed to it. Simple as that, this is the future of DJing. The Denon Engine Prime, which is Denon's take on music management software, is much superior to what some people expect, and uses the P4 not only flawlessly but also wonderfully. There are some differences between the software and Traktor or Serato, but it doesn't take long to get used to it, and import from those platforms is still possible (something Pioneer's software doesn't seem to allow with its restrictive Rekordbox). As a brand and as a business, Denon's willingness to support their own competitors says a lot about their values as well as how much It has been a long time since I've owned a Denon mixer Recently, I bought a X1600 which was every bit as good as a DJM900NXS . The X500 was an amazing value, and the X500 was an amazing mixer. My favorite thing about Denon is their quality and details, as well as their competitive prices. The Pioneer DJ system may have cemented Pioneer's place in the club market and with amateur DJs aspiring to play there, but Denon has always been every bit as good, if not better, in other areas. Users did not adopt their software at the same rate due to the marketing outreach they did not have. In the meantime, Denon's Prime 4 controller should serve notice that Denon will remain a dominant force in the controller market, if not completely dominate it. Denon, for my part, I applaud for not only listening to digital DJs and providing them with quality equipment over the years. Until now, none have been as revolutionary as this (at least at this point) and Pioneer now has the ball firmly in its own court. Bravo,.

In terms of gear, probably my favorite in the last few years
5/5

Before I begin, let me say that I have been using Pioneer Pro equipment for many years, in my studio and in the pro environment, as well as the xdj-2000. Over the course of the last five years, I have used rx2 and rx3. DJing has also been a part of my life since vinyl became prevalent in the 16th century. Though I have owned a few Denon kits in the past, I have not given them another chance until recently, as Pioneer is the most commonly used piece of kit in an environment like a professional studio. This omission needs to be changed due to the Prime series as a whole. I believe the Prime 4 is an incredible value with cutting edge technology and a standalone device. As far as I'm concerned, there is no better bang for your buck, or any other piece of equipment I would rather own. Now that we have that accomplished, we can proceed to My dislikes for this player are few and far between. The only thing I would add to my dream player would be 9in motorized platters like they used to have in the 3900 series. On the rare occasion when there is no audio source present, such as at weddings, I would also like to have a zone output that has an auto mix function that sounds more like an iPod mix. It would create the impression that only someone is mixing I really miss having a selector knob that has stops and detents when switching between effects. As a result, if I know I use reverb and echo the most, I can move the knob to the next detent without having to keep an eye on the screen to determine when the desired FX are In addition to these points, which are purely my vision of what my dream setup would look like, there is nothing else that I can think of off the top of my head In comparison, Pioneer's XDJ RX2 is closest in functionality to this piece of equipment, and having owned that unit as well, I can tell you that for exactly the same price and often considerably cheaper because Denon frequently has sales, you are getting much more for your money. In the following list, I will list just a few of my favorite additional features that the Pioneer does not provide and that are found on just about no Then continue ****- The following are 2 fx units An enhanced list of FX-related products A frequency setting can be used to adjust the FX parameters. The option to sync with software such as SolidSwitch and Resolume to make a show with lighting and visuals that is tightly integrated. Please note A pair of microphones with EQ and a pair of dedicated echos - There is the option to customize the display within the jogwheels
Deck support for four players*br /> There are several ports for connecting, including four USB ports, an SD slot, and a mounting bay for an SSD drive. It's like this I want headphones with split cues
- The play/cue buttons are made of plastic and are oversized - I like that the "beat jump" button is very usable*- However, I'm not seeing any "pitch bend" buttons - The beatgrid can be adjusted via dedicated buttons
Crossfader that can be swapped out quickly. disassemble and replace the crossfader ON TWO controllers to get the new settings to work. It's easy to spend an hour and a half on this job)
Synchronization control of keys - The LED will be on for zero pitch position - Output of zone * - A XLR booth output is available - The unit can be used to create playlists on the fly. Please note The DJ software can read songs, crates, and metadata from other DJ Softwares* WIFI card with integrated antennas
Tidal is an example of a DJ streaming service- An LED screen with an extremely bright display- LED screen that can be tilted - LCD screen with multitouch capabilities - The benefits of pressure sensitive platters over touch sensitive platters (no accidental rubbing against the platter stops the record)
- Looping functions that are more dynamic* - The decks are highly customizable, from the way talk over attenuation levels are set up and how frequency crossover points are chosen to what custom logos are added to the decks and how the hot cue is handled. Please note Take your USB drive with you and create playlists for later using the unit itself or Engine software and they are only momentary and are lost when you disconnect the card or power cycle the player. Pioneer players only have momentary playlists that lose functionality when the card is disconnected or the machine is powered down. Please note The Pioneer flagship recording equipment or the XDJ series are not the only ways you can truly personalize this process. My major criticism of this player is that it is lacking in the R&D department. I apologize for omitting other possible benefits and additions this player has over Pioneer, but it has left a huge void to fill. It is the industry standard Pioneer alongside other manufacturers that needs to catch up. The idea is up to you. I would not hesitate to spend the money on this if I had the money.
