There is no doubt that the pickups and onboard EQ are bad. My ears hurt, so bad that I don't even want to listen to them. purchased a Sansamp bass driver for EQ, and it still couldn't create a satisfying sound. I would recommend looking elsewhere, it will do the job for a little while but you will want something new after a while. Anything else isn't that good. It may work for metal, but it isn't that good for anything else. Though the build quality is excellent, there are a few flaws.
