Questions & Answers

How does the tuning work?

The standard bass strings of E, A, D, and G are increased by a fifth string called the low B string

How does the tuning work?

The lowest string is tuned to B- and the highest is tuned to F

Is it tuned when it's purchased?

You will probably need to tune these bass guitars after opening the box. Moisture and temperature can affect the tuning, so there will at least be some tweaking after the box is opened.

What if I string it as EAGC instead of BEAG?

The nut is sized for the standard 5 string tuning with the low B string, so you can use whatever strings you want. It may be a bit sloppy, though, because the strings measure from the high E string to the low B The stock pickup on this bass is a garbage one and I do not recommend it unless you plan on replacing it. replaced the stock pickup with an EMG active one, and the sound is fantastic. After the pickup, the total cost was about 320 dollars

I have found this product to be of excellent value
4/5

It could be better in two small ways, so I did not give this a five-star rating. It's a little annoying that the output jack is recessed so far and difficult to plug in and unplug. I think a more durable oil finish is something which would be slightly more substantial. As a player, I enjoy playing it a great deal, because it has great tone, holds tune well, and has decent action. If you are looking for your first five string, then this is it.

The only bass I've ever used, but it's easily the best
5/5

I hardly ever hear hum from the pickup and it's got a great tone that I've found suitable for nearly any song I've tried to fit it. A touch of the neck will reveal its smooth and silky texture. There were no complaints about fret sharpness that I saw, contrary to other reports. Most of the time I don't have to retune my tuners, as they stay locked in.

Getting a bass for a low budget The only way to go is up! Considering the price is the first thing you should consider when reading this review
5/5

I have to say, this bass sounds amazing. No gloss is applied to the wood, it is semifinished. Having the wood grain felt is the best way to appreciate it. The guitar needed some basic setup because there was a lot of fret buzz, but these tools come with it, and it comes with a manual that explains what you need to do. Having only owned it for a few weeks, I am unable to comment on its durability.

This is a great 5 string bass that is light and portable
5/5

Since I've been playing bass for nearly 40 years, I'm experiencing pain and discomfort with age. I love it! The bass I bought is lightweight, short scale, and 5-string, which was what I had been searching for! My favourite thing about this guitar is its neck (I've got a few Ibanez guitars) and it plays like a dream after being a little set up. A truss rod adjustment is not included with the package. To use the trust rod set, you'll need at least that. The tone of the speech was perfect, however. It's great to hear passive bass like this! The bass will be great for now, but I may upgrade to an EMG in the near future. Looking forward to gigs this weekend with this.

I got this bass setup (most guitar setups need a bit of work) and switched most of the electronics and brass nut out
4/5

It's a really good bass for the price. I like the feel of the game but the stock pickup is trash. A bass that stays in tune reasonably well for 180 bucks is a plus. Players of this bass from beginner to intermediate level should consider it. Make sure you replace the electronics, though!.

It has a good tone, is solid and light
5/5

In addition to playing nicely, this is an economical purchase, and it appears to be of excellent (I have four bass guitars) It is the lightest and most comfortable I own. The new sensation of playing 5 strings takes a little time to adjust There are a lot of times I get confused, but I'm improving. The base rocks! Not the fault of the base. I hope to be there one day as well.

Definitely a good value for the money
5/5

The 4 string version feels exactly the same. The sound is good, there is enough bass but you can dial in some punch to make it through. There are no neck dives in the light.
