Yes. Although the bridge is missing, the strings are still attached. It's fairly simple to place the bridge, but proceed with caution; alternatively, if you're new to cellos, make an appointment at your local music store. The sound is of good quality. This cello is one that I would recommend; I adore mine!
The only thing we had to do was cut the notches in the bridge and install it, but that was it. It has a lovely sound and is a lovely cello.
I'm not sure where the cello was made, but I do know that it's played every day at a Dayton school called Stivers.
My cello arrived with only the bridge and strings installed, so you'll need to string it up and set up the bridge before tuning it.

I'm extremely disappointed because it was a complete waste of money. Aside from having the most "unique" appearance I've ever seen (which I expected for the low price), the useless strings and loose pegs prevent it from holding a tune. My bow also broke as I tried to tighten it carefully. There are far too many minor repairs or replacement parts that I would have to pay for, so I should have just bought a decent cello instead. I didn't have high hopes, and I've learned the hard way that you get what you pay for!.
It looks fantastic and it sounds fantastic! This instrument has a beautiful tone. The strings and pegs have been upgraded, making it a breeze to play. This setup should be played with Pirastro (or Jargar) strings and PegHed geared pegs. This instrument truly sings with these upgrades and a fine, permanduco bow! My purchase has pleased me greatly.
My cello's neck started to come off not long after I got it, so I took it to a music store, where they said the neck shouldn't be coming off and that they couldn't put the strings on without breaking the neck, and that the pegs were too big for the cello, and that if they had to replace the neck, they'd have to replace the back and the strings, which would cost three times what I paid for the cello.
I just roll my eyes when students bring me purple flutes or green saxophones because I know they won't make a sound. THIS IS ACTUALLY EFFECTIVE! I'll admit that the strings were a complete mess and I had to restring the entire instrument, that the bridge's grooves needed to be filed down, and that the tension pegs needed a little "breaking in" (intensely slamming them against the cello) or they'd fall out of tune every 10 minutes, but wow, does this make a pretty decent sound! I'm amazed at how simple and responsive this instrument is. Obviously, this isn't a long-term instrument, but it's a great option for adult beginners on a budget who want to try something new. I didn't have any issues with shipping or damage to my cello.
I knew nothing about cellos when I bought this for a friend, but she loved it. We had some trouble getting it set up, partly because the notches in the bridge were not deep enough to hold the strings in place, but that was fixed in five minutes. The only other issue was with the rosin, which had a too smooth top layer that wouldn't transfer to the bow. She was back to playing after a few minutes of scratching the rosin's surface.
To begin with, this cello is stunning! But we didn't realize you had to put the bridge up yourself? Umm! I'd never done anything like it before, but I watched a lot of videos on YouTube and followed along with one for about 30 minutes. I wouldn't advise a complete novice to attempt this, but since our nearest shop is over an hour away and it's only for my 12-year-old to play for school over the summer, I wasn't too concerned. Now I'm looking for someone to fine-tune it for me! In any case, it's a lovely instrument, and my son says it's a lot of fun to play. The bow that comes with it, on the other hand, is terrible, and I'd recommend getting your hands on a different one. Overall, I give it 5 stars because for the price and everything it includes, it is well worth it!.
Before getting discouraged when the strings loosen over time, Google how to set up a new cello and how to properly tighten the strings; you should remove the pegs, add some peg oil to expand the wood, and re-string the cello. When the strings are attached, the peg is less likely to unwind on its own. This is to be expected for a cello at this price point, and I find it to be in excellent condition for a beginner.
It's difficult to keep the high string in tune, but it's otherwise a great value for the money, with a great low end. It would have been nicer if the bow had been a little nicer. I've already lost quite a bit of hair. The resin, on the other hand, isn't particularly valuable. There's no need to be concerned. Even so, it's still a great deal.
