Questions & Answers
It's a bit of a screamer. Normally, I practice without using any equipment. A dedicated 1/8 headphone jack is located on the back of the cello, allowing you to plug your headphones directly into the instrument. Although the low F and high E strings can be removed, NS offers four string models that are more than adequate for a beginner. All models in the NS line are used by professionals, so when I say beginner, I don't mean "beginner quality." All NS instruments are expertly crafted and of the highest possible standard. I hope you find this information useful.
There is no end pin included with the cello. A separate end pin stand is available from NS, which I also purchased. It costs around $250 to purchase. I actually prefer the end pin to the tripod now that I've had the instrument for a while. When vibrato is performed with the tripod, the instrument shakes excessively. You get the feeling of playing an acoustic instrument when you use the end pin. It has contact points on the knees and the chest, as well as a metal pin that can be retracted. It does have a pleasant feel to it. I do, however, bring the tripod to gigs because I can leave the cello on it between sets. I've taken the end pin to a few gigs, but I don't think I can safely rest it where the cello won't be damaged. The end pin, on the other hand, has a much better feel and is well worth the extra $250. I hope you find this information useful.
Jason,br>br>I'm not sure if someone sleeping in the next room would be disturbed if your door is closed. You *can* tell if you're playing in tune on the cello if you can hear it well enough. It isn't "silent" because of the combination of string vibration and body resonance (though neither are the Yamaha "Silent" Cellos).
This instrument does not come with a bow. It includes a tripod stand as well as a carrying case. We have a variety of bow options to choose from if you want to add one.
Selected User Reviews For NS Design CR6 Cello
The 6 string NS is a truly remarkable instrument. It has a fantastic cello sound even when not plugged in. It has a learning curve, but it provides an electric cellist with a sleek, portable cello-sounding option. The only point of contention is the bag that contains the stand. With only the cloth of the bag between them and the cello, putting such heavy equipment on seems risky.
Although the D'Addario string set is expensive, it should last at least a year if properly stored. In my opinion, this electric cello has the best sound of all the electric cellos. Learning to play the 6-string guitar is going to be a lot of fun, but it will also be a lot of work. After decades without a cello, I was able to put together a stringed instrument. However, I'm excited for it.
After practice lessons on her acoustic, we bought our daughter a cr6 cello, which she loves. This is the ideal gift for any child with a creative streak!.
