This is a fantastic way to figure out what Reed works best for you
5/5

The V16 worked fine for me, but it didn't have the sound I was looking for in the genre I play - The V16 would have been great for a concert band or in a setting where you needed to blend in because it had a warm even tone, which is mostly jazz and I'm also in a funk band. I couldn't get it to produce the bright sound I needed for the majority of soloing situations I encounter. br>br>I could take or leave the ZZ's; I wasn't particularly impressed, but neither did I despise them. I got a brighter sound than I expected, but I didn't like how it played. br>br>At first, I liked the Java Green a lot, but after about 30 minutes, it felt a little too easy to play, with no real tonal center. After a while, however, I returned to it and grew to appreciate it. The Green plays well in all registers, including altissimo, and is very easy to blow, which could come in handy for endurance if playing a long gig, as well as giving me the bright sound I require. br>br>The Java Reds provide me with a bright, raspy-toned sound. want- It's the sound I'm looking for. They sound great in any key, including altissimo. They're simple to play, but they provide enough resistance for me to feel like I'm in charge of the sound and dynamics. br>br>I'm probably going to stick with Java Red, though I'm starting to like Java Green. Other information: br>br> I used a Meyer M6M rubber mouthpiece on my Selmer Mark VII tenor. I tried metal a few times but didn't care for it. For my needs, the Meyer is ideal. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Although I gave the Java Green a fair chance, the Java Red is by far my favorite in every way.

What are you talking about? I've decided to take up a new hobby since the pandemic began
5/5

I used to play the bari sax as a kid in high school. Three years in a row, I was decent enough to attend state. I decided to get back into it after life intervened with a wife, children, and 20 years of military service. I purchased a Jean Paul tenor that included a Rico reed strength 2 reed. I was able to play the scale's notes, but they sounded a little muffled. I bought this product after doing a lot of research. Is this for real? The Java red and green, as well as the jazz reeds, are absolutely fantastic. I began playing the scale much more easily than with the Rico reed with little to no effort, and I was in tune almost immediately. I'm excited and can't wait to evaluate my sound in three months because it's a fantastic product.

It's an excellent idea to sell sample packs
5/5

Whoever it was at Vandoren who thought of selling a sample pack - should be made public. br>br>I've always thought of myself as a Rico person. However, after trying four Vandoren reeds of various types, I think I'll stick with Vandoren. The best kind was, without a doubt. (I'm not going to tell you because it's irrelevant for the purposes of this review. )br>br> It was incredibly simple to try out individual reeds without having to purchase four full packs.

This was the missing piece in my life
5/5

I'd been playing for a while and decided it was time to part with my Hemke and Rico Royale reeds. (I know, this is basic stuff. ) I knew I was in love when I opened the Java Reds after an hour of playing on my other reeds. My sound was clearer, the extended range was easier, and vibrato was effortless, and I knew there was no turning back. br>This is a set that I strongly recommend. It's fantastic to be able to try new things and have so many choices for under $20!.

Vandoren has come up with a fantastic idea
5/5

Vandoren has come up with a brilliant marketing strategy. You can try out four of their high-quality reeds for a very low price. You may find that one appeals to you more than the other. Alternatively, you might be able to use them all. You and Vandoren both win in this deal, in any case! br>br>So far, the JAVA Red and ZZ reeds have been my favorites. But I've had great success with all of them.

I tried this pack to see if there was much difference in thickness, and there is a noticeable difference in thickness
5/5

After I found the right reed for me, I was able to duplicate the good ones using my reed trimmer.

This is a fantastic way to look into performance differences
5/5

It's amazing how different having four different high-performing teams can be. On my Yamaha 61, which has an Otto Link 6* metal mouthpiece, I use high-quality reeds. Over the last three months, I've been rotating them for practice, and my favorite(s) has changed slightly. I'm learning a lot about my embouchure as it improves with practice, and I got the same set in three sizes for my soprano and am having just as much fun with them.

What does a little jazz have to do with anything? When my son plays, the sound of these reeds is incredible
5/5

If you haven't yet tried and found the perfect jazz reed, this pack will help you do so. Vandoren, you've put together a fantastic pack.
