A plastic holder comes with each reed, but it is not recommended to keep these for a long time. In order to prolong the life and maintain consistency, I would get a reedguard.

The Rico Orange is well worth the little bit extra over the standard version. A few weeks ago, our daughter learned to play alto saxophone. Tenor was my first instrument when I started playing My first experience with reeds was in 1976, when I became forced to change brands from Roy Maier. I realized there was a difference between brands and types of reed. In the beginning, I provided my daughter with an array of different brands and cuts which might have been a bit overwhelming for her. However, as she sorts out what works best for her, the reeds in the blue package are on her short list of favorites.
A beginner's guide would be best. A player with a higher skill level may consider going up to The piece is also more suited for a concert band than a jazz outfit.
The only reeds my son will use for his sax are these. The sound is smooth and pleasing to his ear. It is less vibratory and it is less likely they will split. The following information might prove helpful to people who are starting out as a parent of a band or who themselves are beginning to play alto sax. During his 6 years in band, my son performed in music programs for marching band, concert band and jazz.
(Among other things) I am a professional musician who makes his living through playing sax. Throughout my playing career, I have accumulated thirty years of experience. It has been difficult for me to find a reed that has 100% of my satisfaction, even after trying many types. Rico Royals is my favorite, but I always seem to come back to it. What's the reason? Consistency versus inconsistency is simply a matter of preference. With a box of 10, I might get two or three bad reeds, plus a couple "iffy" ones I can break in with effort. They play fine, and have a fairly consistent strength from reed to reed. Reed is generally a good plant (except for the bad ones). The Rico Royals I own, whether you are a beginner or a proficient player like me, I think are the best for the money.
AOL, the old - These reeds are popular with sax players! My favorite part is the price! I can tell you that it's Are there any more words I need to There's nothing but top quality in these I have a son who plays alto The sax player prefers to use these over This teenager is 15 years old. Older people are often a little rough with things without even meaning to do so. In turn, these reeds seem to last longer and don't split or splinter as fast as other brands do. Reed cutters in Rico must possess a high level of experience in order to offer the level of I rate this as a 1! Three things are important quality, price, and sound.
Before writing a review, I waited until I had finished the box. There are 10 reeds in the box Five of the players excel at playing the game We played OK on 3 of them (played well- Although I stopped using it when I realized I had only used it for practice. I didn't play in my band or for my lesson because the response was less than what I was looking for) A few practice sessions later, these were discarded because they were unplayable (tried them several times and never got an acceptable response). The reeds are not up to par, so you may need to purchase them if you plan to play.
I have a daughter who plays the alto sax. She started playing it only When I approached her music teacher about reeds, he said he liked Rico Reeds, blue box, 2 she decided to buy them from him. The starting point for beginners is 0. In the past, I had given my daughter the three. When she needed more reeds, I decided to look for her blue reed box. She had 0 reeds earlier and I figured they were going to tire her out more easily. This box is a hit with her. Her opinion is that the reeds are easier to play. Her music teacher was probably the best person to advise her.
My daughter is a beginner saxophonist and I bought this for her! It was my older son, a college player, who tried this brand and determined that it is a great reed. Their love for him makes him happy! His opinion is that they hold up well and have a strong sound. As well as the fast shipping, the product was excellent!.
