I find the edges to be sharp even though it fits perfectly on my clarinet. It is somewhat hard to tell how soft the rubber material is, as it is too thin to make a big It is made from a softer material (silicone) than the thumb rest cushion made by Protec, which is a lot more comfortable for thumb rest use.
When I first used it, it moved a bit. The problem was solved by taping a small piece of masking tape to the thumbpress. The reclining chair is very comfortable.
Cushions like this are very comfortable and will stay in place.
