It was all in one piece for me. It's the only thumbrest that will fit over the newer wide thumb rests with the neck strap hook directly above them.
Some clarinets have a hook on or behind the thumb rest on which the neckstrap can be attached, while others don't. If you're asking about this, I'm guessing your clarinet comes with a traditional thumb rest that doesn't have a hook. Depending on the shape of the thumb rest (some are wider than others), it should still be fine. It works best with a thicker thumb rest, such as one found at a buffet. However, if the screw is not properly tightened over it, it can still fall off. The material is rubber. I prefer a simple piece of rubber tubing, but I couldn't find the right thickness at the hardware store and didn't want to spend the money to buy 20' when all I needed was 1". I'm not sure if this helps, but the short answer is no, this won't fit every clarinet thumb rest, but it will work for a lot of them.

If you own a Backun Alpha Bb clarinet, you'll want to get this thumb rest. I first purchased a more expensive Ridenour thumb rest, which has received positive feedback, but it is too small for this clarinet model. The BG A23 is a perfect fit for the Backun Alpha and makes playing the clarinet a whole lot easier.
Most clarinets, oboes, and English horns with neck strap rings can use this thumb rest.
This thumbrest is ideal for my 9-year-old son, who is learning to play clarinet. It is beneficial to assist in keeping the neckstrap in place. br>The company ships quickly, which is great because it saves a busy mom like me from having to rush up to the music store to buy one of these when one of these small items goes missing.
It's a waste of time. After one month of use, the side was torn.
It's fine, but I couldn't get it to work with the neckstrap. It kept falling off, so I gave up and went without. It's also too large for my clarinet.
Any level clarinetist will benefit from a thumb cushion because it makes playing for long periods of time more comfortable.
My clarinet can't play it because it's too big. A piece-by-piece measurement will be required.
