The mouthpiece itself has no cork. The saxophone has a cork.
It will, in fact. br>On my soprano, my standard mouthpiece was difficult to play with.br>This Yamaha mouthpiece will be a step up from a stock student mouthpiece. Yes, a more expensive mouthpiece is available, but for the price, this one should suffice.br>I also use 1 1/2 strength plastic coated rico reeds, which make playing easier. br>I also purchased a Rovner ligature for improved tonality; reeds and ligature make a significant difference for me.

Selected User Reviews For Yamaha YAC 1281 Standard Series 4C Soprano Saxophone Mouthpiece (YAC1281)
I have Selmer and Vandoren soprano mouthpieces, but the Yamaha 4C sounds better to me. My soprano saxophone has a tendency to over-brighten. In contrast to my other mouthpieces, the Yamaha 4C balances the sound with a darker tone. The Yamaha is comparable to the Vandorens and even outperforms the Selmer in terms of ease of use. A word of caution: Because this item is made of plastic, use a mouthpiece cushion, such as Vandoren's thick black ones. A Yamaha 4C is a must-have for any soprano sax player, especially given the low price.
On soprano, I'm a complete beginner. On the saxophone, I am not a beginner. I found these while looking for the best beginner soprano mouthpiece on the internet. This isn't the most affordable option. This is the best, and it's been highly recommended. I won't graduate to something more expensive for a long time, if ever. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
It's a fantastic game! I'm a beginner on the soprano saxophone, and I ordered this a few days after receiving my new instrument, and it works perfectly. It sounds far superior to the cheap mouthpiece that came with the horn, and it's well worth the $30. Beginner and intermediate players alike will enjoy this game. Although the ligature I have is compatible with the mouthpiece, I still ordered the ligature that comes with it (sold separately).
For a beginner to intermediate player, this is a great option. I've been using it for about three months with no issues. You'll have a hard time finding a soprano mouthpiece that's as easy to play as this one.
For the price, it's excellent.
On my tenor, I use the 4C as well. On soprano sax, the Yamaha 4C sounds fantastic. On my tenor and alto, I also employ the 4C. With a 2 or 21/2 strength Reed, it appears to be the Mouth Peace that most Music Teachers recommend. Peace in the Great Mouth for a Reasonable Price.
All of my saxes, soprano, alto, and tenor, have a 4 c.
There is no better mouthpiece for beginners and intermediates. If your Chinese el cheapo saxophone isn't sounding right, give this mouthpiece a shot. It will make a huge difference in how easy it is to play if you get it and a box of Vandoren blue box reeds.
