Selected User Reviews For Otto Link OLR-404-7S Tone Edge Rubber Tenor Sax Mouthpiece
As soon as I used the Otto Link Tone Edge, I was completely blown away. I really appreciate the large chamber as it let me hear my sound better. It took me two days to practice with it (using old brown box Rico reeds, Rico Royals 2 1/2 and Vandoren Blue Box 2 1/2) before I played it with a big band on Saturday. You can project the sound very well and it produces a very While I may not be able to play subtones, low B flats, or altissimos with the best of them, I can still perform with them comfortably. My mouthpiece did not compare to the other mouthpieces I had before I went to a jam session and played a few tunes. But it was the ballad that really stood out from the others. There is nothing to complain about with this mouthpiece! The mouthpiece was reported to have some issues by some users but I have not had any problems with it. Since I prefer a bonade to the ligature that came with it, I do not use the ligature that came with it. This is a mouthpiece I recommend. Don't be afraid to try it, and you might be pleasantly.
As I was ready to give up on my tenor sax tone, I changed my focus on the flute. I immediately heard a difference in my sound after using this mouthpiece. There is plenty of light, but it is also We used a MetalOver 2 1/2 inch As far as I know, if it's bad, you can fix it very easily. I would recommend trying it if you have the money.
The hard rubber mouthpieces I have tried have all failed. I am able to achieve the flexibility I have been seeking with this Otto link. There is an equal amount of warmth in the low and high registers. There is no need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to get the sound you want. An excellent mouthpiece is all you need, and everything else can be done by you. The final say in what sounds you produce comes from you, not your mouthpiece.
There was a lot I liked about it. I had previously tried the metal Otto Link Vintage model, which I consider to be just as good but also more expensive. So I felt it would be wiser to buy this one. It might be that I am not exploding the vintage mouthpiece as appropriate since I am a very beginning player close to intermediate. Again, I would recommend this one to you, if you are on the same level (because it is economical).
I used a 2/12 vandoren for my test. The more reviews I read, the more I became interested in the product. Initially, I found the sound hard to acclimate to but after some time, I found the sound soothing. We used a 2/12 vandoren and we were very happy with the result.
The first few weeks were a bit of an adjustment for me to get used to the size (I recently moved from alto to tenor, and I had an Otto link 6 tone edge for the alto), but once I adjusted I was very pleased with it. The music I can play ranges from very quiet and gentle to loud and in your face a la the screams from pulp fiction as "send in the gimp" did. With this mouthpiece, my sax appears to be in better tune as well. I was patient while the package was being shipped from the UK, but it did take a couple weeks.
It is a very opaque sounding mouthpiece and an excellent option for instruments with a medium register. This is a problem with high or low sound. A difficult task to maintain tuning.
It wasn't clear at first, but I believe that increasing to a 3 will prove useful My love for it has now increased to half a reed.
