This is a fantastic mouthpiece. It has a nice dark jazz tone to it, but it still has a lot of projection. It has a lot of low subtones, which gives it a nice, thick tone. It's also, without a doubt, the most comfortable mouthpiece I've ever used. The majority of it is unrestricted. blowing with just the right amount of resistance The only thing I dislike about it is the ligature that comes with it. It's a Rico H ligature, to be precise. It's poorly constructed, and the reed isn't properly sealed. I had to go back to my Rovner, and the fancy Jody Jazz cap won't fit over it, which is a bummer.
For practice, I'm fine with this mouthpiece, but I'd prefer a more aggressive tone. I'm going to keep looking.
The cap and ligature are not included. This is a fantastic mouthpiece. It's great to be playing again after such a long time, and the sound this produces is ideal for jazz or anyone looking to jam with some friends. br>br>Please note that this mouthpiece does not include a ligature or cap, as advertised. In 2019, they ceased to include these. This is currently being removed from the description by JodyJazz. Because the description has not been updated, if you contact them, they will provide it.
As a 40-year saxophonist, I can confidently say that the Jody Jazz 7* Tenor sax mouthpiece is one of the best I've ever used. Excellent tone and response.
Hello,br>I recently received this item and am extremely disappointed: br>The cap is not RICO as shown in the photos, and the Ligature is of an unknown brand with a completely different design and shape. br>I'm still debating whether or not to use the mouthpiece.
The mouthpiece is very appealing to me. It didn't come with a cap or ligature like it said it would.
It isn't at all what I had anticipated.
Jody Jazz manufactures excellent saxophone mouthpieces, and I am a firm believer in their quality. It's worth noting that the HR Tenor mouthpiece is slightly shorter than others, such as Meyer's. As a result, use a tuner to ensure that you aren't playing too sharply. Excellent sound and response.
