Questions & Answers

Do you have a tip opening chart that shows how many thoudands or millimeters a given number is?

No, I don't think so. You should be able to find information on this by searching Google.

What exactly is the content of the product?

Yellow brass is used as the primary component.

What is the diameter of the tip?

Opening the number six tip. A Vandoren reed number three is what I use. I've also tried the Legere artificial reed, which works well with a standard mouthpiece, but I prefer cane reeds.

Is the sound of this mouthpiece jazzy?

I'd describe it as a fantastic modern jazz sound. This is used in conjunction with a Fiberreed Carbon Onyx. The hard metal ligature creates a fine that is similar to cane but lasts longer.

It is simply too good to be true
5/5

When the Yamaha 6C for tenor sax was no longer available, I purchased this. For the past 50 years, I've been a multi-instrumentalist who has performed in a variety of styles. One of the instruments I learned along the way was the tenor saxophone. I don't have a multi-tasking device. I can't afford to spend more on a good brass/gold plated mouthpiece than my horn is worth, and I can't afford to spend more on a good mouthpiece than my horn is worth. Although I can read music, I prefer to play by ear, and sheet music for the music I play isn't always available. The stakes were as follows: I'd only be out about $45 if I bought this and didn't like it. If I liked the sound, on the other hand, I just got a deal of a lifetime when this arrived today, and I immediately paired it with my favorite reed - With my cheap plastic mouthpieces, I used a Vandoren ZZ in a size 2. This mouthpiece doesn't work with that reed because it's too soft. The tone is excellent in the lower register, but this reed is far too easy to squeak in the upper. I changed to my Legere Signature 2 right away. The first tones of this piece brought my sax to life, and I smiled as the first tones of this piece brought my sax to life. This is very responsive with the Legere SS 2-. 1/4 - I'm thinking about going to a 2-star rating. 1/2. By reducing the pressure, you can achieve a smoky "jazz lounge" tone with the perfect balance of air, buzz, and tone. The sound gets brighter and punchier as you lean into it, but only to the extent that you allow it to. To put it another way, the responsiveness of this mouthpiece far exceeded my expectations, giving me the impression that the horn is an extension of myself, sensitive to subtle changes in breath control. The inverted ligature keeps the reed close enough to the table to pass the "pop test. " The interior baffle area, like the rails, is meticulously machined. I may revisit ligature position to see if the ZZ 2's can be used, though I only have a few left, so the loss isn't significant. I don't see any reason to go back to a plastic mouthpiece now that I've switched to a metal one. br>br>Strongly suggested for improving tone and instrument responsiveness. With this mouthpiece and the Legere Signature Series in a 2-pack, I believe I've found a winning combination. 1/4. For me, it's perfect. It is possible that your results will differ:.

Sound that can be used in a variety of situations, and it's completely free of charge
5/5

It's mind-blowing, and it's suitable for both novices and professionals. It's impossible to find a better deal than this! Although the tip opening isn't quite a "7" (more like a 6 or even a 5*), you can compensate by using a reed that is one step harder. It's still a sound that can be shaped in many different ways. I bought two, one of which I refaced to. It became much fuller, albeit more resistant, at 105 (7 opening). I have both the tenor and soprano parts of this piece, and it's fantastic value for money, with solid construction and perfect intonation. When using harder reeds, the tone can be darkened quite nicely. If you're trying to find your sound or want something versatile enough to play anywhere, instead of spending hundreds on a name brand metal piece, try this first.

This is an excellent MP
5/5

I purchased a Selmer Series III Tenor, which included a stock mouthpiece. I figured I'd try something different because the sound was fine. I already owned a couple of high-end metal MPs, but I decided to try this one. I took it out of the package and replaced the reed with a plastic coated reed, and the sound was incredible. From the lowest lows to the highest highs, my horn has a clear, crisp, and great projection across the scale. I haven't spent $50 in a long time, but it was the best $50 I've ever spent.

Buck gets a big bang for his buck
4/5

I bought it on the spur of the moment, but I was pleasantly surprised by its quality and playability. It's a little edgy, but there's also a little fatness to it. The lig that came with it needed to be reshaped, but it now works perfectly. I liked it enough to give it a shot at a gig, and I've since played on Dukoff, Berg, Link, Vandoren, Beechler, Lakey, Daddario, and a variety of other instruments. But it didn't work for me in the mix, and I'm also the sound guy for my band, so I use a stock 7* Otto Link STM metal mouthpiece every day. I only used the Aibay on one song before switching back to the Link, primarily because it sounded too thin for me. However, I felt fairly comfortable using it, and for $45, it is an incredible value. Not as shreiky sounding as a Dukoff or Lakey, but lacking in fatness and bottom for me to balance out the edge. This is a great piece for a student who wants to try something more contemporary and slightly edgy. I'd also point out that, in comparison to my 7* Link, this piece plays like a 5 or 6 opening. Believe it or not, I preferred this piece to the Daddario 7 that I recently purchased. With the fibracel reeds I use, the Dadarrio flatly refused to play altissimo, and while it had a powerful sound, it lacked color and character, so I had to change my embouchure to make it work.

Although the sound is harsh, it has a good projection
3/5

This mouthpiece has a decent build quality. This mouth piece (7) has a decent amount of projection. It has a more shrill and biting sound than the Selmar and Yanagisawa mouth pieces that I have, and I have used it for certain music where I need to be heard, but I do not like the shrill sound, so I use it less than the others that I have. Tried this metal mouth piece for the first time, and did not like it in general. Continuing to use the Selmar mouthpiece. I've tried various Rico reeds and other plastic reeds, but I don't like this mouth piece on any of the reeds I own.

The issue is ligature
3/5

The mouthpiece itself is fine; it arrived clean and undamaged, with no scratches or dents, and it is free-standing. blowing. The ligature, on the other hand, arrived bent and useless. I had to use a rubber band as a ligature to test the mouthpiece. I'll have to go over everything again. I'm the one who came up with the ligature. The mouthpiece cover has several burrs inside that could scratch or chip the mouthpiece, so I'll have to figure out a way to avoid that as well. The mouthpiece was no longer in the box (it was still inside a plastic bag), and the box had come unglued and opened within the Amazon package. Overall, for the price, this mouthpiece is of good quality.

I was happily surprised! I received the mouthpiece the same day I placed my order, which is remarkable in and of itself
5/5

For such a low-cost mouthpiece, I didn't have very high expectations. When I first tried it, I was blown away by how well it projected and flowed. The ligature isn't my favorite, but it gets the job done, and I have no complaints in general. It appeals to my tastes. It's definitely worth the money.
