Questions & Answers

What is the purpose of this mouthpiece in jazz?

Jazz is determined by how you play and what you consider jazz to be. The piece has a beefy but clear sound that focuses on the bottom end of the horn. Altissimo notes are not as easy to play, which is where the Rico Metalite is a bit better. It also offers a bit more scream, but it does not facilitate low notes nearly They are both handy for different situations and I use both of them. In addition to that, I own a Graftonite guitar that I extended the shank on to fit the ninety six year old Conn bari that I usually gig on during rock and soul shows. Rico mouthpieces are well-made, easy to play, and affordable. There are probably better ones available, but the Rico's are two of the best!

I found this bargain quite extraordinary, but I was disappointed
3/5

Rico Graftionite (I will refer to it as RGM) mouthpieces are among the first of its kind in terms of quality, strength, and affordability. Due to the following reasons, I am disappointed with my RGM for baritone It is slippery (even after being cleaned with Reeds are nearly impossible to grow in a rain forest While making any adjustments to tuning, the ligature should be left in place. The problem of finding a suitable ligature has been very challenging. A fabric lig might do the trick. It would work, but as a professional, I'd need equipment that's going to work well from the beginning. A tenor ligature is required for the profile of the RGM. No fit/ works well for me after trying a few. The Rico H tenor ligature that I bought for my RGM also does not work very well. For the baritone reed and the profile of the RGM there is a problem of points of contact. The slick surface of the RGM and the slick (gold-plated) H ligature make for an ineffective friction coefficient. There would be no way to perform that set up with a free setup.

For those who are just starting out in bari, it is good enough
3/5

It did not come with a One of my students had this mouthpiece bought for him by me. A student mouthpiece would be appropriate for him since he is just starting bari. As a professional sax player, I can attest to the fact that I hate using anything manufactured If you buy the pro mouthpieces I buy, or even some intermediate ones, they will at least include a ligature. It ended up being necessary for me to use one of my factory tenor Otto Link rubber mouthpiece ligatures You can select a stepparent if you're a parent looking for a stepchild This is a poorly set up setup, do not buy it. Make sure you are using a mouthpiece of better quality. Especially for those who are new to the instrument (even if they have played before) this is a good place to start.

Optimal for buecher baritone sax, not for buecher alto
3/5

Due to some reason, this mouthpiece does not work on nearly any of the notes on Due to this, I have been forced to use my old mouthpiece. Honestly, I'd return this mouthpiece if there were an option to do so. There is a buecher 1972 in my possession.

A good choice The Bari Sax* was bought for my son and he likes it a lot and says it has a much better sound
4/5

It is working fine for school use, it has been used every day. If he owned a Sax instrument I would have bought a better one but since this one is working well for school use, price was good. However, we haven't had it as long as we would like.

Stainless steel mouthpieces made by Bari
5/5

I think this is a really nice I've been using it on my Yanigasawa bari and think that it has a superior sound than the stock The tone of the music is excellent, and there is no range limitation. You just need to keep in mind With this item, you don't receive a ligature with the mouthpiece. There is no such thing as a simple ligature The Rico Royal bari ligature that is specifically designed to fit this MP must have a special crimp to fit this MP exactly. A barrel has a unique shape (the barrel is cylindrical). Despite this, it is a very playable MP, so the process is not that difficult.
