The 4c mouthpiece is one of my favorites! It has an excellent sound range!
It all depends on your level of expertise. Beginners (such as myself) usually opt for a 3C. A 4C is preferred by intermediate players, but a beginner can start with a 4C and work their way up. A 5C or higher is usually reserved for advanced saxophonists. I hope you found this information useful.

For a beginner saxophonist like myself, this is an excellent all-around mouthpiece. I needed a mouthpiece that I could use with some of the softer reeds, ranging from 1. 5 to 2. 5 and be able to play competently for a novice. This one is a little more user-friendly than my Yamaha 4C Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece. Yamaha makes mouthpieces that are designed to be easy to blow because they are so passionate about their musical instruments.
As expected, it works well.
