Questions & Answers
Because different playing styles necessitate different ligatures, it's difficult to say which is the best, but we've found that the Rovner 1RL (Dark) suits a wide range of styles and is both durable and affordable. However, there are a plethora of other options.
My son is a saxophonist who plays the alto saxophone. I was able to measure the outside diameter of the original mouthpiece that came with the sax (not sure of the specifics as it's currently not at home) - It measures approximately 7/8" in diameter. I'm not sure if that will be of any use to you.
Any alto saxophone should work with this mouthpiece.
My mouthpiece is labeled "Made in France," but it was actually manufactured in Japan. That's what it says on the mail receipt.
Selected User Reviews For Selmer S-80 C* Mouthpiece for Alto Saxophone (S402C1)
Following the advice of his private lesson teacher and band director, I purchased this mouthpiece for my son. He had been playing the saxophone for two years and had progressed beyond the beginner level. He was auditioning for a competitive Jazz Band this year, and they advised him to use this mouthpiece to improve his tone and playability. He gave it a shot and then moved on. He was immediately smitten by the feel and sound of the mouthpiece and has been using it ever since. As a parent, I was surprised by the price, but it was comparable to other mouthpieces, and I am aware that instruments are costly. The Selmer S- is a type of Selmer. We felt confident in purchasing 80 C because of the positive reviews, and it did not disappoint us. br>br>Fast forward six months, and he is still in love with this mouthpiece, having been selected for both the competitive jazz band and the top concert band at his middle school. Even though he plays at least five days a week, the mouthpiece shows no signs of wear and tear and appears to be in good condition. This is a fantastic product, and I am extremely pleased with it.
I was looking for ways to improve sound quality by reading reviews online. The Selmer S-100 was praised by a number of novices. So I went to Amazon and bought an 80 C* Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece. I use it with the Vandoren VMC6 Clear Mouthpiece Cushions and the Vandoren 2. 0 (in the process of moving up to the 2) 5) Reeds, as well as a BG LD 1 Gold-colored BG LD 1. Plated Ligature is a type of ligature that is made up of multiple plates This potent combination makes me very happy!.
The first day, I was ecstatic about the big, full sound. I read through all of the Amazon reviews from high school students and their proud parents, and it sounded exactly like what I was looking for. I also had the option of returning it if I needed something else. When viewed from the reed end, this mouthpiece has an unusual brownish color. Is it possible that it was returned to you by someone else? I'm not an expert when it comes to mouthpieces. br> I've learned the following as a result of this: If possible, try one in the store, then buy three and return the two that aren't as good. It comes in a cheap box with a nice velvet (felt) bag with drawstrings and a fancy brochure with a lot of useful information. A list of famous saxophonists can be found. I've never seen a better photograph of Adolph Sax. br> The second most surprising thing is that I played the next day and had already grown accustomed to it, so the thrill was completely gone. br> I tried the Yamaha 4C a few days later and couldn't tell much of a difference. Then I experimented with the MP that came packaged with the horn. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. So, are we enthralled by how much of a difference a different MP can make? Is it true that my embouchure has improved to the point where I can make the horn sound the way I want it to? Is it possible that I received a tip opening that was the wrong size? I'm not sure what I'm saying. I don't want to go to the post office anytime soon, so I'll go to the big city and try out some MPs before purchasing another.
When her band instructor called to tell her that her mouth piece was broken, I felt relieved. Because I know nothing about saxophones, he specifically recommended this one. It arrived quickly, and the squeaking came to an abrupt halt. It has brought joy to my daughter, my family, her teacher and class, and most likely the neighbors as well. For an Alto Saxophone, I highly recommend this mouthpiece.
This is the ideal mouthpiece for students or those who want a mouthpiece that is neither thin nor open. The mouthpiece produces a slightly more open sound than other student mouthpieces while maintaining the same level of quality. It's also simple to find a mouthpiece; You won't need to practice as much as you would if you were using an open vandoren mouthpiece.
My son, who has never owned a concert-level mouthpiece, was the recipient of this purchase. His jazz band instructor, in particular, immediately noticed a difference. The total cost was $15. 00 less than what you'd pay in a local music store.
Isn't it intriguing? br>It's fascinating to learn that a mouthpiece you think is made in France actually comes from Japan's mail. Isn't it amusing?.
It's a hit with my daughter.
