Questions & Answers

Is this the end of the ball?

Yes. On one end, there are small metal rings. On the same end, there is some blue thread. Four different colors are used on the opposite end. They have a good sense of melody. The majority of the time when I pick it up to play, I don't adjust them.

How many strings are included in each packet? Is it just one, all of them, or half of them?

The package contained four strings, or the entire set.

Is it possible to use these on an electric violin?

They're excellent for electric violins, yes. Most electric violins will benefit from them. br>Calido Guitars by Danielbr>Danielbr>Calido Guitars by Danielbr>Calido Guitars by Danielbr>Cal

The strings are a step up from the violin's original strings
5/5

I finally got around to changing out the strings on my (cheap) violin for these. They are, without a doubt, a step forward. My game is still abysmal (I'm a semi-pro). learner - I used to play as a kid, but I'm picking it up again and starting from the beginning), but I can tell the sound quality is better with these. I should have switched to these strings right away, but it seemed such a waste to throw out the original strings when they were still brand new.

In the package, the E string corrodes
4/5

I'm a violin instructor in the Caribbean, and I've had a lot of experience with these strings with my students. I like the sound of these strings and the price is reasonable, so I buy a lot of them in the United States and import them. I'm in a place where the weather is humid and hot, and I'm near the ocean. I've discovered corrosion on the E strings in packages that had never been opened several times (probably 10 out of 30 sets of various sizes that I've purchased), rendering the E strings nearly unusable. They're still usable in an emergency, but there are a few small rusted areas that feel rough running the length of the string. Because of the issues I've had with so many E strings, I'm going to try some other strings to see if I'm having the same issues, even though Prelude strings are fantastic for the price. I'll just mention that I'd been storing some of the strings for over a year, which may or may not be an issue for you depending on your climate and how long you need to keep the strings. The strings are color-coded and packaged in one plastic bag that you must cut open, inside a cardboard envelop, so you can't inspect them until you remove them from their packaging. I'll take a picture if I find another rusted string.

The colors are vibrant and distinct
5/5

My background is listed below, but I've highlighted the most important points: These strings have a lot of projection and a bright, clear tone that is easy to play. br>br>Use cases that have been suggested: Beginners, bluegrass, folk, and country, and they'll almost certainly sound good on an electric violin (I only have one set, so I can't test them on my e-violin). fiddle! They'll also fit in well with a student or community orchestra. Simply ensure that you're tuned in. If your violin has a ball end chin rest, which most student violins do, especially those with a Whitmer tailgut, they're incredibly simple to put on. br>br>To summarize: great value for money, clear tone, and the open strings 'ring' out beautifully. br>br>I've only been playing fiddle for about six or seven months, but I've been a musician for as long as I can remember; I received a used instrument with year-old Dominant strings on it, which I replaced with these. It took me this long to actually do the deed because I was nervous about changing the strings in the first place. I had a VSO (violin-string orchestra) from China. Before this, I had a VSO from 1995 that literally fell apart when I tried to remove one string, but as long as you have a good quality instrument and only change one string at a time, you'll be fine (mine was a VSO from 1995, literally made of plywood with the sound post glued in place! )br>br>The main distinction between these and Dominant strings, aside from price (Dominants are around $50), is tone coloration. These strings are very bright and clear, and some might describe them as "nasally" or "thin. " If you have a violin that already sounds muddy and dark (in the opposite direction of bright/clear), these will provide a good balance. Even if you don't, these strings are likely to work for you. If they are too shrill for you, your luthier may be able to adjust your violin. br>br>Get a luthier if you don't already have one. Purchase a round or two, or bake them some brownies, whatever it takes to gain their favor. When your violin comes unglued (No, seriously. ) you'll thank me. This is a common occurrence, and a qualified luthier/technician can easily remedy the situation. ).

To the Ears of a Beginner, it's Heaven
5/5

What a difference, oh my! A $3 set was all I had. 99 strings from eBay, and the A string was bothering me because it didn't sound right, and I'm a beginner violinist; these strings are now heaven to my ears, and I'll be playing them until I reach virtuoso status (ok, until I'm good enough for even better strings). You will not be disappointed if you purchase these (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING STOCK MENDINI/CECILIO).

For non-profits, this is an excellent purchase
5/5

qualified individuals. This is my first set of violin strings, and I had no idea what to look for. I read reviews after reviews about what to look for in violin strings, and these seemed like a good deal at the price, and I wasn't disappointed. The strings appeared to be of excellent quality, with clear identification of which was which. Because I'd never learned how to string an instrument before, knowing which string was which came in handy. After a few months of playing with these strings, it's clear that they were an excellent investment! They sound far more crisp and true-to-sound than the original strings. The package arrived on time, and I will be ordering all of my replacement strings from here in the future.

They have a fantastic sound
5/5

Just make sure to get the small version. I bought these from here when I needed to replace a string on my violin. They have a fantastic sound. To protect the strings, make sure the small piece of rubber at the end of the strings is moved to the center of your bridge. They are only visible if you look closely. Simply place them in the bridge's center.
