Questions & Answers

Are the stings A, D, and G ball or loop end?

My version has a ball end, but I believe you can specify what you require.

Is there a violin that can be played while listening to the sounds through headphones without disturbing those nearby?

Try a Yamaha Silent Violin; any of them will suffice; alternatively, you can purchase a "heavy mute," such as a metal one, which will be just as quiet as the Yamaha but will be more convenient for you.

Is it possible to remove the E string ball?

It's possible to get rid of it, but it's not designed to be taken out. In this set, Pirastro uses a loop or ball end for the E string, rather than a single E with a removable ball.

What company makes the product?

Pirastro GmbH is a company based in Offenbach am Main, Germany.

Selected User Reviews For Pirastro Evah Pirazzi 4/4 Violin String Set - Medium Gauge - Steel Ball-End E

Be wary of the buyer! Pirastro strings that are not authentic! Do not purchase them! These strings are unquestionably a forgery! They are steel strings with no synthetic core at a low price
3/5

The actual package is more environmentally friendly than the one I was given.

It whistles like a madman, so be aware of that
4/5

It has a vibrant and projecting appearance. Strings that are extremely powerful and soloistic. Once properly broken in, they have a decent amount of warmth, but on most student/intermediate level violins, they would be overpowering. There are a few high-end options. dependable and cost-effective If this is the case, there are a number of budget-friendly options available. If you don't need a lot of projection, don't use these strings. If you get the gold E-card, you'll also get a bonus. If you choose the string option, be aware that it makes a lot of noise. It has a bright, projecting tone, but you must pay close attention to the whistling and possibly adjust your bowing technique to compensate.

So much love for Evah Pirazzi, my Evah Pirazzi
5/5

Evah clung to my prized violin and made the most beautiful sounds in the world. But she shed her soul on the A string under my wretched fingertips, and I yearn to place another order. I'll get you back soon, Evah, and everything will be fine once more.

Despite flaws, it's worth paying the extra money
5/5

My hand chemistry causes the A and D to unravel occasionally, especially in the warmer months, so it's well worth the extra money. Because the A string is a little wider than other A strings, make sure your nut groove is wide enough before using it. In addition, the A string has a flaw in that it easily unravels at the nut. Make sure you use pencil lead to lubricate your nut grooves. However, even with these flaws, the sound quality is so good that the higher price and potential issues are justified.

It makes a fantastic sound! I've been playing violin for more than 30 years and have primarily used Thomastik Dominant sets
5/5

br>These, in my opinion, are far superior and give my violin a wonderful sound and tone that no other string can match. br>I think they're great.

Strings of excellent quality
5/5

The cost of the product is very reasonable in comparison to its quality. The shipping was extremely fast and dependable. The sound of my instrument's strings exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. I've been telling other students in my class about the product.

The A, D, and G strings are AMAZING! After reading positive reviews, I spent about $300 on these and a variety of other strings, comparing them for a day
5/5

As a result, the A, D, and G strings are simply AMAZING. The money was well spent. The E string was loud but uninteresting, so I went with another option (Daddario had a really nice one). br>I'm blown away by the A, D, and G strings; they're by far the best I've seen. The E string is more useful in other places.

My order was delivered on time and in perfect condition
4/5

These came highly recommended by the violin repairer I was in contact with (Dominants was his second choice). He practically begged me to buy the Evah Pirazzi because I had been using Eudoxa Gold for the past 19 years. Because the Eudoxas were always a little muddy, my violin is better suited to louder sounding strings. To my ears, the transition from gut to synthetic has been a mixed bag. I like the increased volume because it allows me to hear the notes I'm playing much more clearly and in tune. They never go out of tune, which I find fascinating. The tone of the strings, on the other hand, bothers me, especially when playing diminuendo. After three weeks of use, the gut strings had a lovely warm and soft tone, while the synthetic strings remained rough and metallic. Also, when string crossing or playing chords, I notice that my bow slips a lot more - Rosin appears to help, but it also contributes to the rough tone. Finally, I don't like how my bow bounces a lot more on synthetic strings, and I haven't figured out how to compensate yet. Of course, this isn't meant to be a criticism of the strings. Maybe it's because I've spent so much time playing with gut strings or because I prefer to listen to violinists from the early twentieth century, but I'd give these strings a 4/5 for these reasons.
