In the past, Thomastik has been my go-to tool Since they produce such a lively sound, I have been using Infeld Spirocore strings for several years now. The comparison I can make for you is not based on my experience with D'Addario Kaplan strings.
A set of 4 strings may be purchased, or each string may be purchased separately. My old Pirastro Golds replaced the G and C strings after I bought the set and found the G and C strings too bright.

The two cellos were a bit undersized for a 4/4 cello, but neither of them measures 3/4 feet. There are just too few of them. After I finally got them installed, the C string lasted only one week before it broke. Yet when they were playing those songs, they sounded wonderful while they were on stage This is a very bright sound with very loud lower registers.
A and D strings have such an entirely different tone quality from the G and C strings that it is hard to believe they are separate instruments.

It is the A string on my cello that has a metallic sound. hope the quality of these devices will improve over time, but to go from Larsen to these is a real downgrade (guess you get what you pay.
Stay as far away as possible from them!.
The strings are amazing. Their love for them makes my son happy.
