My violin fits in mine, but I recently tried out my son's 1/2 size cello to see how it fits. A 3/4 cello would fit, but because the neck of a cello is thicker than that of a violin, and the depth of a standard violin hanger (such as this one) isn't particularly deep, I believe it would fall. In my opinion, if you're going to use it for a cello, it should be very close to the ground. It would, however, fit, and since the portion of the hanger that holds the instrument is angled up, I believe it would stay as long as your child is careful.
At the base of the neck box and the top of the neck, the viola is grabbed by the holder. As shown in the illustration, the mounting screws are spaced evenly above and below the holder. The gap between the holder and the screw is about 1" above and below the holder, so the top hole is about halfway through the peg box, not including the scroll. There is about a 1" gap between the top screw and the top of the mount block. I'd measure from the top of the scroll to the midpoint between the pegs if I were doing this. Make a note of that distance, then mark it on your wall, then go up 1" and mark the top screw hole. For both mounting holes, molly is the way to go. Dropped Violas are unappealing to the eye and ear.
The violin is suspended from the nut's area. I'm not sure if a 1/4 violin's neck width is smaller or larger than a 4/4 violin's. It should work fine if they are the same size.
yes ! My viola and violin hangers work fine, but not a cello.

It was exactly what I needed and was simple to set up. There will be no issues. br>Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a counterculture. The sinks for the screws that were provided were correct, and everything looked nice when it was mounted on the wall. Then, on April 3, 2021, I decided to purchase two more. Everything had been altered by the manufacturer. br>br>The screw receiver is too far recessed, preventing the yoke from being screwed in when the woodenbr>spacer is present. br>br>The screw receiver is simply pushed into the back side like a staple, and if you unintentionallybr>remove the black sticker on the back side and try to use it from that side, it will most likelybr>give way and send your violin crashing to the ground. That is not something you should do! They should've drilled the backside of the building. Deepen the sidebr>hole so that the screw receiver is closer to the front. br>br>So I decided to keep the items and make some changes. The simplest change is to shorten the wooden spacer. After three broken Dremel tool cuttingbr>wheels, I had the spacers for my two violin holders cut down to size, and the yoke can now be screwed into its receiver from the front side, securing everything and preventing my violins from falling to the floor. br>br>It's a mystery why the manufacturer changed things without testing the results.
I purchased two of these, and they are both of poor quality. They appear to have been thrown together in shop class by a middle schooler. The wood surrounding the holes is splintering and cracked. The raw and unfinished wood block in the center (visible from the side) There is no varnish and the surface is barely sanded. br>br>I installed one in my daughter's room and it works fine. So, if you don't mind how it looks, it'll suffice. However, you should not purchase this if you want it to look nice.
I purchased two, one for my violin and the other for my viola. They're extremely durable and simple to put together. Anyone looking for a violin hanger should check out this site. It's safe, and my instruments haven't yet fallen to the ground because of it.
It was great that it came with high-quality hangers. The hanger is also violin-shaped, which is an added bonus.
I arrived on time, but there was a chip in the wood finish that I noticed right away. I assumed the chipped off wood was on the backside, but when I went to install it, I discovered that it was on the front side, so I'll have to return and possibly try again. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident.
Simple and straightforward to set up. This wall hanger isn't the most secure holding option for violins with uneven tuning pegs.
It performs admirably and appears to be of excellent quality. Love it!.
Three of these were purchased in order to display three violins. I did add a little stain to the sides for color, but it didn't take stain well. When it was put up, it looked great.
