I'm working with a 1/16 scale model. It hangs fine (a little loose, but it holds up well); just don't let my 4-year-old hang it back up. I made a call to the manufacturer. If I felt I needed it, they said I could order a smaller fork part that would screw into my existing base. I was able to unscrew the small fork part once my child graduated to larger violins. Replace the old one with the new one. I hope this has been of assistance.
I'm not sure how heavy a cello is, but I believe it would be fine if you screwed it into a stud in your wall.
We're sorry, but we don't know because we're using it for a full-size violin. We don't believe there is much of a difference between a full-size violin and a full-size viola (perhaps the viola is just a tad longer), so we can't imagine a viola not fitting on this holder/hanger.
Just one. Everything is in order.

I purchased two of these hangers. One is for my violin, while the other is for my viola. They perform admirably. As irrational as it may seem, I mounted both to a stud in the wall because I won't trust a dry wall/sheet rock anchor with my instruments. In addition, I use a thick rubber band on the hanger's end to keep the instruments from falling out if there is an earthquake (I live in California). The rubber bands that come with broccoli are excellent for this purpose. Broccoli rubber bands, that's exactly what they're called.
My younger daughter has one and used to play it in high school; the quality of the wood, the tuning, and the beauty of the instrument set it apart from the others. He's gone, for the time being. My younger daughter is now 31 years old, and on two of these mounts, I have two of his earlier (unfinished) attempts hanging on the wall. On the right, there's a place to hang a bow, but we're not using it. The violins are purely decorative. However, I appreciate that the upper screw is further away from the violin mount than the lower screw; this means that the upper screw has less "pull. " I used the included plastic anchors to secure them, and they work fine.
When properly installed in a wall's sheet rock, it can easily support the heaviest of Violins, as well as a Bow! I haven't tried installing it in a wood stud within a wall yet. Guys and gals, I don't think finding a wood stud for added strength is necessary at all for just supporting a violin and a bow. This is a very nice and secure Violin and Bow mount. The mounting screws, sheet rock screws anchor, and mounting method are all easy to use and secure. Just remember to pre-drill pilot holes for the sheet rock screw anchor if you're going to wall mount it on sheet rock only. Taking the extra step ensures a clean, professional installation that looks great! br>D. Very nice!.
It holds the bow and positions the fiddle's scroll far enough away from the wall so that you don't hit the pegs when hanging it up. I'm finding that I'm playing a lot more now that it's not in a case and can be seen. br>I also like having it mounted on the wall because it saves space on the floor and protects it from my children's curious little hands and my own clumsy feet, which could damage an instrument on a floor stand.
The stain color is a close match to my violin and goes well with my color scheme, so I bought this item because it wasn't the typical black or light stain, and I was tired of seeing the bulky violin stand holder sitting on my mantle or baby grand. It's well-made in the United States, isn't too bulky, and has a clean look. The only thing that could make it better is if the screw holes were covered with matching buttons.
I hung one with my own anchors and attempted to hang the other (brown violin) with the kit's anchors. That is not something you should do. I tried for several hours and was unable to get them flush with the wall; the unridged portion of the plastic anchor's end became lodged in the wall and remained there when I attempted to remove it, leaving extremely large holes in the wall. I couldn't get the anchor I did get into the wall flush with the wall no matter how hard I screwed it in. In the case of the second violin hanger (white violin), I used my own smaller plastic anchors. It went in without a hitch and is securely fastened to the wall. br>br>With the exception of the anchors, it is an excellent product.
From the same company, I purchased this and a dulcimer hangar. They have a nice appearance and are well-made. We used smaller anchors than those included in the kit, as I mentioned in my previous review. We didn't think they'd work with my paneled walls because they were quite large. However, I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
