Questions & Answers

Is this something that would work for an F-? What kind of mandolin do you have?

My grade is an F-. It's a mandolin in the style of a mandolin in the style of a mandolin in the style If you're concerned about the bottom horn, don't be; it doesn't touch the ground and cradles my instrument perfectly. There is a pad on the upper arm piece that the instrument rests on perfectly; I kept an eye on it when I first started using it a few weeks ago and the upper body of the mandolin sits on it quite adequately.

Is it possible to connect an instrument cable to it? Isn't it common for these to emerge from the bottom?

The stand is accurately depicted in the photo. If your cable bends easily as it exits the instrument's bottom, I believe it will fit fine with the cable attached. It appears that you will only have about 2 inches of clearance space for the cable to bend 90 degrees. The stand would obviously not work for a cable exiting from the back of an instrument, but it should definitely fit if the cable exits from either side. It's a nice, heavy stand; I hope it works for you - best of luck!

What exactly is the mechanism behind it?

Simply place your musical instrument (ukelele, for example) on it, and it will hold it in place.

I'm looking for a violin stand that will fit a 14" long child's violin, which is extremely small. I want to put it on a shelf and show it off. Is this the right stand for the job?

While I am not familiar with the dimensions of a child's violin, I can tell you that this stand stands at approximately 10" tall. The base would raise the instrument nearly 2 inches, so you'll need to account for that in your shelf height. I use it as a floor or table stand for my ukuleles, and you can position the instrument sideways if your shelf is longer than it is high. If you have a shelf height of 18" or more, it's worth a shot.

The STAGG Ukulele Stand is the ideal accompaniment to your ukulele
5/5

This ukulele stand does exactly what it says on the tin. Lightweight, portable, and sturdy, it can be used with a variety of ukuleles and other stringed instruments. I like how the support arms fold up to the leg sections, making it easy to carry in one hand while holding a ukulele or mandolin in the other. br>br>It safely supports soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles. There will be no rocking back and forth or side to side. I put the ukuleles through the bump test, and they passed. I didn't have to remove a strap from one of them before putting it in the stand. br>br>A cigar box guitar and A and F style mandolins are also supported. br>br>The stand is sturdy and well-made. It was also delivered in a timely manner. br>br>Not only for Ukuleles, but also for mandolins and other small stringed instruments, I highly recommend this stand. Due to the nature of the body styles (long and lean), however, it does not work for dulcimers.

Stagg Quality isn't what it used to be
3/5

To test in my elementary classroom, I bought two different ukulele stands. I've previously bought Stagg equipment and been pleased with the quality for the price, but this stand was a letdown. It arrived promptly and was simple to unpack. When I put my various sized ukuleles in it, I noticed that they were not nearly as secure as the less expensive wood stand I also bought. After further inspection, I discovered that the legs are uneven and rock when placed on a hard surface. I also noticed that even when touched, the support arms did not cause the instruments to fall. I'm not going to return it for the $20 because I'm a do-it-yourselfer. It was taken to my shop for some adjustments, including adjusting the supports with a wrench and sanding the plastic foot ridges to reduce wobble. br>Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to fiddle with the stand. I'd buy the wood stand again, but Stagg's quality control needs to be improved a bit.

Padded nicely
5/5

For a soprano uke, this is an excellent size. My soprano uke is small and fits perfectly on the stand, and I just tried my kids' guitar on it and the sturdy stand hasn't faltered. incredibly safe! I'm thinking about getting a second one for the guitar! My ukulele is one of my favorite things to play. Playing is a breeze. I don't want to put it on a table or a chair, despite how small it is. On the stand, it's secure and out of the way. I'm all set! (I am a southerner. ) (I'm not sure why we have a fireplace. ).

Portable and useful I'd buy the Stagg again in a heartbeat, and I wish I'd bought two
5/5

It's small and sturdy, which makes it ideal for gigging. This metal version is solid and rugged for portability, while the "wood" version is a nice display stand for home use. You can leave your shoulder rest in place, and it will lean against your back at a perfect angle. This one appeals to me because it is more upright, requiring less wall space than the other because the violin is cradled further back. I discovered that I could rest the bow frog on my arm and lean it against the fiddlin's fiddlin' fiddlin' fiddlin' fiddlin' fid lin makes it simple to get around. Even though the metal one isn't as "pretty," the violin almost conceals it.

It's cute, but it didn't arrive in perfect condition; it works fine and all, but it had a couple of minor scratches
3/5

It's not a major flaw, but it's not what I'd expect from a "new" product. Is it possible that this is a customer return that Amazon has forwarded to me? It also appears to have been tweaked just a smidgeon so that the top piece does not appear to be perfectly straight, that is, parallel to the floor. It's not worth the trouble to return it because it should work fine and no one but me will notice; however, I prefer my brand-new items to look great right out of the box, not like factory seconds. If this was a pre-owned or blemished model, I'd give it five stars, but that's not what I paid for, so I can't.

Out- STANDing
4/5

It's the perfect size for my concert ukulele. The top of it is slightly crooked (which is why I took away a star), but it isn't visible when my uke is on the stand, and the heavy metal construction appears to be extremely durable and will last for many years.

Sturdy and powerful
5/5

I had received a couple of plastic ukulele stands for my birthday, but they weren't sturdy enough when the weather changed and I wanted to play in my backyard. This one is far superior. br>br> Despite the unevenness of my lawn, I was able to find a flat enough spot, and my uke remained stable on this stand even in the wind while I was resting. br>br>Be careful not to overwork the plastic ones. They're great for indoor use and came in handy when I needed more than one ukulele.

Well-made, sturdily constructed, and capable of withstanding heavy use
5/5

There isn't a wiggle or a wobble to be found. This is a fantastic stand, with sturdy construction and straightforward engineering. My ukulele is propped up on the padded arms, low to the ground. I'm relieved to know that my instrument is secure in this stand, and I've ordered a second one to replace the one that came with my other ukulele. I would strongly suggest it.
