Questions & Answers

Customers have complained about a noxious odor emanating from the wrapper. Have you thought about it yet?

I'm not sure I ever smelled anything. However, I purchased the item over a year ago and may have forgotten about it.

I don't want my cello to come into contact with any metal while it's in the stand, so where's the padding?

You should never let your cello come into contact with any metal. Today I'm going to make an attempt to upload some photos.

Will a 1/4-size cello fit on this stand?

It's adjustable, so I think it'll work.

Is it possible to raise the supports that hold the cello's body high enough to keep the end pin fully extended when it's in the stand?

Yes. The neck and support adjust, and I just tried it, and the pin is almost completely out of the way and not touching the floor.

It's safe in the hands of my cello
5/5

Any cellist who even has a passing interest in their instrument will cringe at the prospect of not storing it in a case when not in use. When I'm performing on stage and/or using a pickup, however, transporting the cello to its case may be a riskier proposition than leaving it at your seat. This stand was purchased for use when I'm playing pit orchestra for a local theatre where space isn't an issue, but my cello is wired into the sound system with a clip-on microphone. It's not easy to move because it's on pick-up. Instead of laying it on the ground, where it would almost certainly be kicked or stepped on, Before the show and during intermission, I use this stand to support the cello and bow. br>br>A cellist will not trust their instrument to just any stand (cellos are far too expensive for that), and I trust this stand, which is heavy-duty and has nice wide feet to keep it stable. Intentionally, but not unintentionally, the neck strap can be easily removed. The stand has a lot of height adjustment so you can adjust it to your cello's or stage's needs. It's quite large when transporting, but it folds up flat and can be stuffed almost anywhere. The bow hook is excellent, though it can get in the way during transport. br>br>My only criticism is the telescoping neck piece--it is too long. At the very least, for my position-- isn't perfectly crafted. The clamp screw's indented track is slightly misaligned in relation to the neck hook, causing the entire stand to be off-kilter. However, unless you're looking at the stand closely, you wouldn't notice it; the stand's functionality is unaffected by this flaw. br>br>I'd buy this cello stand again! It comes highly recommended!.

The cello does not come into contact with any metal
5/5

The cello is just touching the padded part of this stand, which is high off the ground and likely can be made even higher. This was purchased to keep my Malamute from knocking over the cello. It also keeps it out of the way of the cats. It takes only a few seconds to put together. I don't own an expensive cello, but it would undoubtedly keep a valuable instrument safe and secure.

With a couple of minor flaws, this is a sturdy stand
4/5

This is a well-built stand that is simple to put together. It's been a few months since I've had it, and the cello is in good condition. Only a few minor issues: br>br> After a few weeks, the rubber strap that goes around the neck broke, and the tips of the base arms aren't capped, exposing the metal. To keep my neck secure, I used a hair tie. I discovered these 0. for the exposed metal. In the hardware store's furniture accessory section, look for 5 inch rubber tips to cover them. They're a snug fit over the metal tips where the foam ends, which alleviates my concern that the metal will scratch the cello.

This is fantastic
5/5

It's the right-hand stand in the photo. The ukulele, as well as its stand, couldn't be left out. I ordered a stand because space is limited in my condo, and I've always believed that if your instrument is OUT and AVAILABLE, you'll play it more, so I ordered one that is sturdy and has a locking mechanism at the fingerboard for added security. There isn't a single place on the property where wood comes into contact with metal And I was well aware that it would need to be put together - the dreaded term for someone with ten fingers - However, putting one piece into the other took less than five seconds. My bow is also dangling from the back of the chair! THIS IS ADORABLE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT.

a lack of quality control I noticed a knob sticking out of the box when I first received the package
3/5

This knob is attached to the stand's neck holder adjustment screw, which was protruding because the rubber grommet of the bracket that adjusts for the neck didn't have its hole lined up with the screw, resulting in the screw not being inserted very far. As a result, the screw must have collided with something during transport, causing the bracket's threads to be damaged. I had to spend 45 minutes straightening things out, and I ended up with a chewed-up knob on a screw that only works with some effort; I cannot recommend this product.

What a fragrance! It fits the cello perfectly and takes up very little space
3/5

The bow hanger is also well-placed and effective. Because of the odor, we have given this stand a one-star rating. It smells like manure, to tell you the truth. We've left it outside for a month, even through a hurricane, and we've washed it twice with Dawn detergent after soaking it in vinegar and bleach. The odor of feces is still present.

There are no rules to follow
5/5

It's so simple to put together! I only had to put the two halves together because half of it had already been completed for me. Since we purchased it over a month ago, it has held up beautifully and was simple to adjust for cello height. When our son practices at home, this is a great place to keep his cello.

Adjustable in every way
5/5

The stand is a complete success. It allows you to rest this 3/4-size cello with the peg fully extended. It includes a bow rack as well as a band to keep the neck from falling out. All contact points are soft, including the support arms. Rubber feet on the floor make it extremely stable. The length of the support arms and neck can be adjusted to accommodate a variety of instrument sizes. There was nothing out of the ordinary about the odor. I researched a variety of cello stands before settling on this one.
