Questions & Answers

Do the legs of the stand lock open so that it doesn't collapse when you pick it up?

They don't lock, but they do keep their position. I've already picked up the stand with the violin safely secured several times.

Is the Ingles Tenor Ukulele Stand suitable for a Tenor Ukulele? I'm intrigued by the reports of how sturdy this stand is in comparison to other ukulele stands. ?

It suits a tenor perfectly. The upright of the stand is adjustable, allowing it to accommodate tenors, sopranos, and anything in between. This sturdy stand has made my life easier.

Could a 16-inch viola fit on this stand?

I use my Ingles Stand for Standard size violins, which has a 14-inch body and a 17-inch neck safety bar. The stand can be adjusted up to 21 inches in height. I'm happy with my stand; it's sturdy and can take a lot of punishment. I fold it and put it in a bag to transport it to the various events I attend on a monthly basis. I can't comment on the Viola's ability to hold a Viola because I'm unfamiliar with it. I hope you find this information useful.

Is it possible that if someone bumps the stand, it will scratch a nice wooden table?

The base of the stand is extremely sturdy. It is made of metal, but the rubber ends on the feet allow it to sit so that the metal does not come into contact with the surface. It fastens loosely around the violin's neck to keep it handy and safe as long as it is not knocked off the table with the violin in it. If you're still worried about the feet scratching a table's surface, you can always put a cushion under them. If I'm concerned about items marring the table top, I'll sometimes place a thick towel underneath them. I highly recommend the Ingles Adjustable Violin Stand, which I purchased and am very happy with.

Amazon gives it five stars for customer service, but the product's design has deteriorated
3/5

As an example, I purchased this violin stand twice, the first in September and the second in December. In 2017, and then in January of the following year. 2020 The first one was particularly impressive. I gave it a five-star rating. The second time around, however, the stand was built differently, with two major flaws: Narrower base (making it easier to tip over) and 2. Larger bow holder tubing that no longer fits violin bows properly (no longer able to hold near the frog, but only if forced where the bow hair begins). The product (*as well as the company responsible for changing the stand design specs) is disappointing, and does no good if half the instrument (meaning the bow) cannot fit safely on the stand.

Stands for musical instruments I ended up purchasing three
5/5

My viola, violin, and cello each have their own. When I first bought it, the viola was sold separately. The viola's bow holder was too fat, which was a problem. It was due to the cello bow's size. It's fine as long as I keep the bow on the edge; the violin and cello are fine. I wish the cello one could hold the cello with the bag on at times. I have a backpack and a thick bag with wheels and multiple ways to hold the cello. br>br>I especially like these because I have cats who aren't always so careful, and these keep the instruments in place so I don't have to worry about them being knocked over by the cats. If you're comparing wall hangers, I don't like the fact that you can't lock the instrument in place, at least not the ones I found.

5/5

Is far superior to anything I had anticipated- It's so simple to pick up my violin and play; As a result, I've increased my playing frequency. My violin teacher was furious that I didn't buy one from him until I explained that it also holds my bow. That was the first time he'd seen it. A must-have for any collection! (Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in purple to go with my purple music stand and custom purple violin!.

I'm going to get another
5/5

Guitar Center had a good deal on a mandolin stand. However, I'm purchasing an electric violin and needed a stand with a bow hook. I bought it because it had excellent reviews. I placed my order at 12 a. m. and received it in the afternoon the next day. It appears to be of high quality and well-built. I bought it for my 4/4 violin and it's perfect; I'm returning the one I got from Guitar Center and ordering another of these for my acoustic violin.

Violins are safe
4/5

After borrowing one for a symphony concert when I needed a second violin, I decided to buy one for myself. It's the right size for all parts of the instrument to rest on a cushioned surface. A shoulder pad can be left attached as well. I only gave it four stars because it should have included a carrying case. At the very least, that should be a possibility. It's cumbersome to transport, especially when you're already carrying two instruments, a stand, music, concert attire, and so on.

It's effective
3/5

We are pleased with the performance of this stand. The clip you put in front of the instrument has a stiff feel to it, which I like. (moves with ease, it isn't difficult to move) The only caution I would issue is with the bow hanger. It has a large piece of foam over the metal that should protect the bow in theory, but it is so large that the bow cannot easily slip over it. (sort of a snug fit) It's possible that it'll wear down over time, but I always take extra care when putting the bow on the hook.

This stand is both heavy duty and quite heavy, and it is perfectly solid
5/5

This stand will not fall over easily. The overall design and construction, as well as the weight of the stand and the stability of the base, are quite impressive. br>br>It has what appears to be a rugged, powder coated finish. It will hold your instrument without the need to remove the shoulder rest if you use one, as advertised. br>br>Over the neck yoke is a heavy-duty plastic lever that swings down. The lever is easy to operate with one hand, and is positioned so that it is easiest to use with your right hand, which is ideal for grabbing the instrument with your left. br>br>My only criticism is that it is very low to the ground (as shown in the photo). As a result, you probably don't want to leave it standing alone in the middle of a wide open space where it could be tripped over. When I'm performing, I use two of these and keep them close to my music and mic stands so they don't get tripped over.

Violin is easily accessible thanks to its sturdy construction
5/5

I was prone to not playing because I kept my violin and bow in a case. It's too much of a pain to take it out and put it back every time, so I use this stand to keep my violin, bow, and cleaning cloth handy and ready to play whenever the mood strikes. It's very sturdy, so I don't think it'll fall over (but keep it away from your Roomba!). My violin teacher recommended this brand, and I'm glad I went ahead and purchased it. It has a significant impact on the amount of time I spend playing.
