Questions & Answers

What about the memory foam on this stand? Does it work with Nitrocellulose finishes, or will it damage it?

As far as I'm concerned, it ought to be fine

Selected User Reviews For Gemini Sound Professional Black Steel GTST-01 Foldable Adjustable A-Frame Acoustic Or Electric Guitar Bass Cello Stand Music or Mixer Rack with Rubber Pads

The stand here isn't designed to hold a cello
3/5

In addition to the defective glue, which the manufacturer clearly knows about, but does nothing about, this is in no way a suitable free stand for a cello, let alone a cello like mine which has an electric motor. Because I'm not planning on returning it, I have it awkwardly positioned with the pin against a wall because I don't want to go through the hassle of giving it back and just need it up off the floor and in good shape, It seems for some reason now I'm thinking about it, the bottom is adjustable so that I could mould the bottom to fit the shape of an electric, but no, it's a solid piece of material that's not malleable. There are a lot of glue warnings, but I lucked out thinking about touching it when the padding immediately fell off when the glue was high up in the air, but it would have been a nasty time consuming disaster had I touched it. I guess as long as it's under $20, for now it's good enough but if it were say $25, I probably would've returned It is the same price on the other side, but it has no reviews claiming the adhesive is melting off, so I definitely would have used the other route.

I love the gooey surprise that arrived with the stand
3/5

The stand seems to be There was a sticky mess on the glue that holds the pad to the ground, and the pad had come away. The adhesive on the stand is still wet from sliding it back. I got a sticky mess all over my fingers and the stand. In any case, I will replace the pad with cork and use a proper adhesive. FWIW, I have also submitted another question asking if the foam on the "arm" brackets is nitrocellulose friendly or if it will damage this Any feedback I receive for the review will be updated as soon as I receive it. I have updated I did receive a reply from Manufacturing stating that it is likely to be fine. A response was received, at least. My guitars finished with nitro will not be on this stand, and I wouldn't recommend it due to the adhesive. I can clean it off and use a better adhesive, but it still won't be safe to put my vintage guitars on this stand. I apologize for the second rotation of the image on Amazon.

This Gemini GTST model is a well-built "A" frame guitar stand
4/5

The following is A-0 This small portable guitar stand is designed in the "A" frame configuration and is compatible with electric and acoustic guitars. Using the metal knob on the back of the stand, users can adjust it to fit any size guitar, whether it is an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar or a bass guitar. It can also be folded up for storage and transport. The stand is fairly light, with rubber or plastic feet to keep it There are a number of guitars for which I have tested it, and it seems to work. In addition to the frail bout arms and thin padding, the padding in the chest area is thin, as well. In my opinion, it would work fine at home and in the studio, but I'm a little worried about how long it would last while traveling. I don't know what glue was used on the pad at the top of the A frame, but it was goopy and I could move the pad around with a Afterwards, I cleaned it and reset the pad, letting it dry over night. I checked mine the next day and it was fine. Check yours when you get it before you place it in The stand is a decent deal considering it was under $100. However, I wouldn't call it a "pro" stand. It will certainly do the job for home cameras and studio cameras.

Good guitar stand, but the glue on it seems sticky and runny
3/5

The setup was easy - all you had to do was take it out of the box and fold it. There is no gloss to the color. Both electric and acoustic guitars fit in it, and it can fold up and be easily stowed away when not in use and almost does not take up much space in the storage unit. Putting it in one of my larger guitar cases with the guitar is also easy since it can even be folded up and wrapped lightly in thin bubble wrap. A very sticky greasy substance is probably supposed to be glue on the top foam piece built to cushion the guitar against the metal stand. Some of this oozed down into the metal of the stand, which made the final product look like a mess. You can see this in an attached picture. When I tried to wash it off with soap and water, it was not as easy. The rubbing alcohol worked best to get it off, and then I used nail polish remover with acetone to remove the rest. To check if the glue would harden and dry properly and work effectively, I left it untouched inside an air-conditioned room for over a day. However, it remained greasy and sticky and free. There is no way I could risk putting my guitar on this. I don't know how I would get it off my guitar and what the finish would be affected by. My solution was to throw away the foam, clean up the residue with nail polish remover, cut a new piece of foam, attach it with some super glue, and throw the old foam away after that. Thanks to you, it works like a charm now. Thus, if you wish to do the same type of work as I did, or if you get your own stand without the problem, this is a very good, convenient, compact, and handy guitar stand that is good to own. I received the I have reviewed this in an honest and fair manner.
