Questions & Answers
Because a 14-inch viola is the same size as a 4/4 violin, you'd need the same shoulder rest in the violin model.
I used it on a Tertis model 15" that had a fairly wide bottom, so I believe it would fit a 16. However, I can't promise it. It's merely a hunch.
It should fit a viola with a neck length of 16 inches. It fit perfectly on a 15" Tertis with a large bottom bout.br>However, it is not collapsible, so getting it to fit in some cases can be difficult.

The wood makes a huge difference compared to the plastic kun model, so it's a beautiful, very aesthetically pleasing shoulder rest. One of the major drawbacks of this product is that it must be properly matched with the appropriate Viola. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 is because it refused to cooperate with my Viola. My viola, in particular, is considered a bright, fast-responding instrument in and of itself, so adding another component with the ability to make an instrument even brighter becomes a negative, and the sound of the mid-range tone that the Viola possesses becomes a bleed of noise that is almost identical to that of an outgoing Violin. The shoulder rest becomes "unforgiving" as a result of this, as even minor errors (e. g. If your instrument is dim and slow responding, this is the product to buy; if you're a case like mine, don't bother; you might as well pick up the violin. Overall, it's still a good idea to try a few different shoulder rests because you never know which one will be the most comfortable for you.
This is a stunning shoulder rest, and I adore the sound it makes. I'm so glad they included viola in the design. However, it is a little heavy for me now that I am no longer a child, and I wish the legs could be adjusted lower. So far, I haven't found the perfect shoulder rest; I used Bon Musica for years, but it started to hurt, so I'll stick with the Kun Bravo for now because I like the sound and quality.
It's of excellent quality, and the shape is ideal; it's currently the best shoulder rest available.
If you've tried a few shoulder rests and can't find one that works for you, this one will. It can be adjusted low enough for people with shorter necks and narrower shoulders. It's very comfortable padding, and the wood is attractive; it doesn't stay on the viola very well at first, but after the rubber feet break it in, it stays on the viola beautifully. It's incredibly durable, appealing, and adaptable. This one has made me very happy!.
There are better options, such as the Wolf Secondo, if you want to be more comfortable.
" A wood shoulder rest appeals to me because I believe it will increase resonance. I like how the "feet" are molded as a single piece rather than rubber sleeves over metal. It's fully adjustable and comfortably fits my 16-year-old daughter. Viola in the size of a 5 inch violin.
Love it. It's very relaxing!.
This shoulder rest is one of my favorites because it's sturdy, has more options than the plastic variety, looks nice, and I swear it's helped me tone up a little. Having said that, I really wish this was available in a collapsible version. I emailed the representative, requesting a collapsible version, and received a curt response, stating that I had not ordered that type and that I could not change it. Too bad - It appears that this will be kept at home, and I will have to reconsider ordering from Shar in the future.
