Buying this for my bass violin was a good decision. I just switched them out as it was the proper diameter for the collar of my steel endpin. In the event that I want to go back to steel, I can. Rather than purchasing one, I bought two, one was short and the other was It's a bit of a gamble whether this will help your tone, but it is cheap enough to give it a shot. My shortening it, rather than cutting it long, worked well for me, warming up the sound, and allowing for a little more bass resonance since less space was taken up inside. The disadvantage of this is that it sacrifices some of the steel characteristics, which produce a more focused sound and sharper articulation. Although there is not much of a difference in projection between carbon and steel, I do feel like this carbon bass warmed up the volume. As my bass is small and has quite a focused sound, I was hoping that this endpin would help to relax it a bit. The leather punch I used on the collar of my old steel end pin is 1/4" wide - made from leather In between the collar's screw and endpin, remove the buckle from an old belt. I love the way it works. The 10 mm steel endpin is also playable while standing, though I find it to be more flexible and bouncy when fully extended than the 10 mm steel endpin.
In addition to replacing the endpin that came with my cello, I like the endpin because it is a replacement for the one I need. In the pictures you can see that there is a loose piece of cork that allows the rod to move lateral to the position. I took one star away because of this. There is a problem again. There is a problem with the endpin, so I will have to fix it. The head of the screw touches the tail piece! The third picture shows what I mean. Because of that, I'm deducting another star from my rating. My cello's size is 4/4, and by the way, you can hear it through headphones.
Taking care of oneself is not a problem A Merano cello (ASIN # B0057JUY28) will be installed with this one. Because the height adjustment bolt's threads had been stripped, the original was no longer useful.
Initially it feels a bit cheap, but so far it seems to be working well.
As soon as this endpoint is fitted, everything works well. The article is very long. In my case, I did have it professionally installed since the new hole was larger than the old one. On my 3/4 cello restoration project, I used this technique to great success. I like this unit a lot. Although it was more expensive to have it installed, the cost was still less than that of the local strings store.
My old 3/4th cello's metal endpin bent from transportation and I needed a new one since I had to replace the 1900s version. A rubber tip was built in and I like how long it is. I really like how sturdy it is. It is definitely worth the money!.
The plug is too wide, and the stand is too wide for one person to apply it.
Weighs less than 10 pounds!.
