Questions & Answers

For a 5-string electric violin, should I get a viola bow or a violin bow?

For a 5-year-old child, we suggest a violin bow. Both acoustic and electric string violins are available!

Is this a medium or large bow? Is it possible to use it with a Viola in size 26?

This Carbon Fiber Viola Bow is designed for violas that are 14 to 17 inches in length. The body of a viola, excluding the neck, is used to determine its size.

Is there a warranty on this?

The Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber Bow comes with one of the most comprehensive bow warranties available. Fiddlerman requested a custom arch and weight distribution. If anything goes wrong with the frog, the stick and mechanical parts are covered for 5 years. For three months, the hair is covered, and for twelve months, the wood wedge (at the tip) is covered.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to playing the violin. I have a violin and viola, for which I purchased Fiddlerman bows. ?

Yes! The frog of the viola bow is rounded, while the frog of the violin bow is square. In addition, the viola bow weighs about 10 grams more!

A must-have for any collection
5/5

This is a fantastic piece of work. I've been playing the viola for about ten years and have participated in state competitions. I've never owned a better bow than this one. The bow is lovely, the inlays are immaculately laid, the ebony frog is smooth and consistent, and all of the edges are perfect and symmetrical, as you can see in the video. The wrap comes with tape over it, which can be removed if desired (on most cheaper bows, the wrap will fall apart, but I removed mine and applied a good amount of pressure, intentionally trying to unravel it with NO SUCCESS, it didn't budge), and the wrap underneath is clean, consistent, and attractive. br>br>The hair takes rosin quite well; I had it playing in about 2 minutes. The horse hair is well combed and securely attached; a few hairs were lost during menu packaging, but other than that, I have lost no additional hairs even when playing aggressively. br>br>The arch is perfect, the balance is perfect, and the sound is rich and vibrant despite the fact that it is extremely lightweight. It's also made of carbon fiber, which means it won't be affected by heat or humidity, and it's much stronger than most wood bows, making it extremely long-lasting. br>br>This is the best bow I've ever owned, but it's also the cheapest, and I adore it.

) I'm a retired professional violinist. I'm a retired professional violinist (really, I used to play for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Opera Company, and a few others) and I'm a retired professional violinist (really, I used to play for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Opera For more than four decades, I've been watching the vast improvement of synthetic bows (as seen by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Opera Company, and others). The Chinese designers have truly nailed it. eye (after years of gradually narrowing in on the "ideal"). I can't believe this bow is only $68. It outperforms any bow that costs less than $1500 that I've ever owned. BUY IT! It will alert you to the technique that needs to be improved. Beginners and amateurs are also included. Before you use it, make sure it's rosin-free. I'm not sure why I feel compelled to say that (aside from some reviews I've read). Carbon fiber, to the rescue!.

So far, everything has gone well
5/5

This bow outperforms my two-year-old bow by a wide margin. I'm very happy with the quality, though the winding tape was slightly off, but that doesn't bother me. The bow responded well to my rosin and was ready to play in less than five minutes. In addition, the weight is very pleasant. It'll take some getting used to because my previous bow was quite heavy, but it appears to be promising. The inlays are also appealing to me. They have a very appealing design and a great deal of color.

The bow was exactly as described, and the customer service was excellent; however, hairs began to fall out of the tip of the bow shortly after I received it
5/5

Isn't this a terrible idea? However, the seller explained that a small percentage of the tips could have a loose block. The seller immediately sent out a replacement bow without requiring the original to be returned. The replacement has done a fantastic job. I like the balance and weight of the outfit, as well as the hair quality. This was a good buy. For less than the cost of rehairing the old bow, you can get a brand new one.

It's a bow, in case you didn't notice
5/5

I'm a professional musician, and for $70, this is a great carbon fiber bow. I have a (much) more expensive bow, but it features endangered species, and I don't want to change bows when I travel internationally for business. This bow was purchased by one of my colleagues, and two others followed suit. This is a good bow. It will be fine if you rehair it.

The tension in the bow isn't quite right
3/5

I'm not a fan of this bow because it's too soft. I'm buying Viola bows from Fiddlerman for the second time, and I'm a little disappointed this time. When I ordered this maker's bow two years ago, it was much less expensive and had excellent quality in terms of bow tension, balance, and weight. The factory may alter the quality of the carbon bow, as I understand it. The higher price of the bow indicates that it is of higher quality than the previous one I used, or at the very least, it should be. br>However, I can't think of anything better than the last one, and this one is even worse. As a Violist, I'd like to make a recommendation to you. Please be aware of the pressure applied by the performer (at the professional level) when making bows. Not only for producing a loud sound, but also for projecting a deep, rich sound. As a result, I believe that shorter bow hair, about 5mm shorter, will aid in the creation of stronger tension. br>I hope you find this comment useful.

Excellent seller and product
5/5

I was able to get my hands on the item within a short period of time. This is particularly remarkable given that I am currently stationed outside of the United States. After I placed my order, Fiddlerman sent me an email with instructions on how to rosin the bow and care for it. I appreciated that video as well as the bow's packaging when it arrived. It has a wonderful weight and sound to it. I would strongly suggest it! I played the viola for seven years in high school and then 20 years later, I picked it up again. The eased the pain of having to relearn how to ride a "bike"!.

This is a fantastic little bow
5/5

My viola arrived without a bow, as it was a basketcase that I had repaired. I returned to the well after purchasing a Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber violin bow, and I was not disappointed. Hair that is really nice and smooth. The viola has a turning screw, great balance, and a good weight. Bravo!.
