I'm not sure how much the bow weighs, but it's light and has a good bounce. Keep in mind the price, and it's a good bow for that price.

I've been playing the Gliga Gama Violin for about 2 1/2 years as an adult beginner. My bow is made entirely of pure pernambuco. It's almost time for a re-write. So I went looking for some hybrid CF/wood bows and came across this Chinese-made Vingobow at an enticing price. The free Amazon shipping was extremely quick, and the 30-day return policy was a nice bonus. I placed my order on Sunday afternoon, and it arrived on Wednesday afternoon from an Atlanta warehouse in a sturdy Amazon box with a rigid PVC tube capped on each end and the bow wrapped nicely in a thick foam sheet for extra protection. The snakewood frog coloring isn't quite right for the Pernambuco wood shell that surrounds the carbon fiber core, but it's close enough to be acceptable. The brass alloy fittings appear to be sturdy, and the screw turns easily. While I can't confirm that the horse hair is genuine Mongolian, it appears to be in good condition to my untrained eyes. Rather than having a frustrating experience trying to get rosin from a block on new hair, I followed the advice of another reviewer and used gloved fingers to work powdered rosin into the loose hair while keeping the frog component separated. Because several people mentioned texture inconsistencies, I decided to use an old Sherman rosin block and sand off about a quarter of a teaspoon to apply to the new hair instead of buying powdered rosin from the internet. After that, I reassembled the frog, tightened the hair, and applied the cake's jade rosin. With only a few strokes of the jade, I was able to create "perfect" sound. This Pernambucano bow is 1/2 cm longer and 5 cm wider than my previous Pernambucano bow. Because of the carbon fiber core, it is 7 grams lighter. It's a little too frog-heavy for me, but that's okay. The point of balance appeals to me. With an Amazon credit and Chase Visa points in my account, the net price was a pleasant surprise, and it was less expensive than having the wood bow re-done. haired. So, after my next lesson, I'll ask my instructor about it. I intend to give it my all in the hopes that she will inquire about what's new and improved. Maybe I'll straighten up and lengthen my bow strokes as well. Let your imagination run wild, shall we say? After a few hours of testing and playing, everything appears to be in order. It seems to bring out the tone of my Gliga Gama violin better than the other two bows I have. I would highly recommend it, and I am very happy with it. br>Additional information: 01/7/2022br>Before purchasing, I inquired about the weight, as the description stated 135 grams - a clear mistake I took a video of it at 59 seconds after receiving it. Block Rosin with 5 gms of powdered Rosin before applying powdered Rosin. In comparison to my L, this is a very light bow. At 65 years old, Remy Pernambuco Bow is still going strong. 2 gms. The frog screw has a smooth track. Certainly more adaptable. So far, I'm really enjoying it. Ray.
For the past 30 years, I've been playing and teaching. If you don't have $1000 to spend on a fancy bow, this is a great option. I have a $800 bow that I bought in 1998, and this bow outperforms it. So there you have it.
I was worried that, like previous bows, this one would be poorly wrapped, but it came with five layers of different protection and wrappings. It's undeniably good.

This bow is absolutely stunning. I'm a beginner violinist, but I immediately noticed a difference in sound when I switched to fiber. It's also quite lovely. This is my new favorite.
